Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice?

My issue with hemorrhoids has been hanging around for about ten years now, and usually, I can manage to soothe them within a few days using whatever tricks I have up my sleeve, but this current situation is just beyond horrific. I gave birth two months ago, and while I fully expected the usual agony to return, I had no idea it would be quite this devastating. I realize surgery might be the only permanent fix, but since I'm breastfeeding, that's absolutely off the table right now, so I'm wondering if there's any kind of temporary relief out there? They've never bled like this before, and honestly, every single trip to the bathroom feels more agonizing than the actual labor was. This time around, it's both internal and external, and they stay inflamed constantly; neither creams nor compresses seem to touch the pain. I actually wanted to pick up some Pilex, but they told me I shouldn't use it while nursing...
I completely get where you're coming from, and my heart really goes out to you. I actually called my OBGYN because I’m pregnant and dealing with the exact same nightmare, and his advice was to alternate between warm and cold compresses and stick to any cream as long as it doesn't contain corticosteroids. For me, the best thing is lying on my side with a cold compress, and occasionally applying some Faktu cream. Every morning, I make sure to have about half a cup of yogurt mixed with three teaspoons of ground flaxseeds just to soften things up a bit, otherwise, the whole ordeal in the bathroom is just endless misery. A warm bath provides a little bit of relief, but only while you're actually sitting in it—once you get out, it feels even worse, so you might want to avoid those. I mentioned an unusual, slightly uncomfortable little gadget in my previous post, but I think it helps somewhat too, acting almost like a cold compress from the inside and helping to relax things so the movement isn't such a struggle. I truly believe this will subside and you won't end up needing surgery. Hang in there!
