Roger Martinez11 said:Everything is just falling perfectly into place for Max, and now those two over at Ferrari are going to be stuck spinning their wheels... Honestly, Max could probably coast to a second-place finish in every single race for the rest of the season if he wanted to. I mean, is this where the real circus finally begins at Ferrari, right after Carlos managed to pull off that win?

But what happens if things start getting messy over at RB because Perez decides to trip himself up? He is getting uncomfortably close to Max in the standings...

He caused quite a bit of damage. I suppose it flew under the radar because there were more pressing matters at hand back then.
I honestly don't know if they even looked into it
🤔?

The guy is lucky to be alive, and here you are claiming there were "more important things" happening. I'd go as far as to say it wasn't investigated simply because Russell the Briton is a local favorite, and the race was held right there on home soil...

Are we really just going to gloss over what George Russell did there?

Honestly, it’s just a shame because it seems like nobody actually noticed that Carlos Sainz was essentially babysitting Charles Leclerc for fifteen laps, basically acting as a buffer so he could utilize his DRS during the first part of the race. You have to remember, Charles was dealing with a damaged front wing the whole time...

cosmicmoose2 said:>>Look, there’s the whole pit strategy and tire management side of things, but it’s not like Carlos Sainz can just sit behind Charles Leclerc for ten laps straight if he doesn't have the pace, especially with Lewis catching up to them both.
In those kinds of scenarios, they really should just swap positions and then potentially try to get them back later on...
And honestly, if you know those hard tires need five or six laps just to get up to temperature, you can't exactly leave him sitting on them right at the end of the race.

Wait, when exactly was he holding him up?

When you have Lewis breathing down your neck while they’re sitting pretty with a 1-2, they seem completely paralyzed, unable to decide whether to actually defend the position or just let Charles Leclerc go ahead... Instead, they just sit there hesitating and overthinking while Lewis closes the gap.

And don't even get me started on that absolute disaster in the pits, acting like they had no clue what to do once the Safety Car came out.

Red Bull and Mercedes are just too polished to let mistakes like that slide—even if they have an off day every once in a while—whereas Ferrari, on the other hand...

They honestly got lucky that Louie was the one behind them. If it had been a decent Red Bull Racing car back there, they both would have been bypassed in a heartbeat.😛

cosmicmoose2 said:I am just so incredibly frustrated with this Ferrari team; it feels like nobody is actually in charge or even knows what’s going on. Even if they somehow managed to pull together a decent strategy, there is absolutely no guarantee their drivers would actually follow it...
It is just exhausting...
This should have been a textbook 1-2 finish for Ferrari once Max Verstappen dropped out. I honestly cannot stomach watching them throw away opportunities like this...

Seriously, how is someone who is actually signed to drive for them—and possesses at least a shred of common sense—supposed to be expected to stick to those strategies?

Thomas Lopez51 said:Exactly that, the telemetry made it obvious that Charles Leclerc was heading straight for the hangar, and if they hadn't called him in, they could have brought both drivers in, though they probably would have just dealt with Lewis Hamilton on the track instead.

What do you mean by that? I mean, Lujo had the fastest car on the grid today... maybe if.....

someone else was behind the wheel, he actually would have won. 😵

It seems like the guys out there sweeping the track didn't move it far enough away, so he just sailed right over it instead.

Thanks. I’m watching the race with the commentary set to Canadian. I’ll be sitting here chattering non-stop without a single moment of silence, despite the fact that I don't understand a single word of Canadian... Thanks again. 🙂

Honestly, Charles Leclerc should probably just give a massive thank you to Carlos Sainz, considering he was basically being towed through half the race...

Does anyone actually have a clue what went sideways with the RB 1?
British GP (Silverstone) | July 1–3, 2022 in Formula 1 ·
Louie is definitely ready for retirement. They're driving him like he's some wide-eyed rookie who doesn't know any better... It'd be much better if he just walked away from Formula 1 while he's still young and healthy enough to enjoy it.
British GP (Silverstone) | July 1–3, 2022 in Formula 1 ·
Honestly, you people are such children. Sainz is holding Leclerc within a single second for fifteen straight laps just to stay out on track in front of Lujo, and yet here you all are, tearing him to pieces...

There isn't any theory that explains it...
Linda Peterson43 As if I haven't heard this all before... it's just the same old cycle repeating itself over and over again, isn't it? Everyone thinks they have the answer, everyone thinks they can see through the fog, but in the end, we're all just staring at the same predictable patterns while the world keeps spinning blindly on...
Yeah, but judging by some of the comments floating around here, Kimi’s performance was an absolute disaster and he needs to hang it up and retire immediately... 🙂

He drove that like a total pro... honestly, there wasn't anyone else on the grid who could have pulled that off, and he managed to hold onto his position while keeping the car completely intact...
Most people around here have their favorites, whether they’re rooting for specific drivers or entire teams, which makes staying objective a bit of a tall order. If you ask me, this is essentially what went down in Los Angeles:

1. At the start, Lewis was pushing hard and building up a decent gap ahead of the Crybaby.
2. Once those tires started giving up, the Crybaby began to close the distance.
3. Then Lewis pits for fresh rubber, only to emerge right behind the little brat—who, let's be honest, is a nightmare to overtake... but still...
4. Come Sunday, Lewis wouldn't have been able to pass anyone anyway, since nobody actually made a move on anyone unless there was a driver error ahead or a mechanical failure.
5. A few of the drivers were clearly aware of that fourth point, so they didn't bother overextending; they just focused on preserving both the engine and the car.

So, the bottom line isn't really about the little brat; it’s all about the timing of Lewis's pit stop.

Personally, I'm happy for Ferrari's win, even if it was the Crybaby who took it—he's not exactly my favorite guy—but I think it's way too early to start the victory lap or pass final judgment on what a team is truly capable of, because the track in Los Angeles just doesn't provide the full picture. We need to wait for a few more races before things really become clear...

Can someone please fix this, I'm begging you... 🙂 My old buddy actually popped up under a brand new username just a moment ago, and my heart is still racing from the shock...

Thanks for the heads-up. Best, 🙂
