Ugh, I really don't want to go under the knife—nope, definitely not! I'm actually pretty terrified of surgery... Since I'm usually such an optimist, I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best—maybe if it is a fissure, it'll just heal on its own? Or maybe the hemorrhoids aren't too bad? So, honestly, I’m not really feeling any pain right now... and the discoloration isn't even that huge—just this purple-red tint... hm hm—but I’m still treating my backside with an oak bark soak 🙂 Maybe that’s actually helping? Who knows! It doesn't look quite like the photo, though... :/ the whole area around my anus is just a very light, subtle shade of purple...
Oh, and I wanted to ask—what does a specialist actually do during that exam? Do they use some kind of instrument, or is it just a quick finger exam and a visual check from the outside?
So, I didn't end up getting my referral to the specialist after all... A different GP checked me out and said she doesn't see any hemorrhoids or anything else at all—she just gave me some Triderm cream to help with the itching. Honestly? It actually worked wonders already! I've only used it once today, but the relief is real—though, when I take a look, there’s still this slightly purple area just below my anus... so now I'm wondering if it really *is* a hemorrhoid after all?
Or maybe I’m just getting my hopes up—maybe this cream actually *will* work and finally get rid of all this itching... 🙂 I really hope my doctor realizes we're dealing with external hemorrhoids here!

He prescribed some Fact ointment and Fact suppositories (I HATE SUPPOSITORIES!!! -.- ) I used two and decided there was absolutely no way I was doing those again... I just stuck to the Fact cream and sat in cold water for 5 minutes during my baths (cold water really helps with the swelling) and did that for about 4 or 5 days. Then it stopped, and I realized the hemorrhoid had receded. I'm happy and satisfied... 😁 That Fact ointment really works! (Y) And hemorrhoids happen because of being too inactive—like sitting too long—poor diet causing hard stools, straining, or just sitting on the toilet for too long due to pressure imbalances and stuff like that... Moving more, eating a healthy variety of foods (I eat everything, but obviously make sure to have at least one serving of fruit a day), and staying hydrated are great for this... Anyway, I hope that helps you... Personally, that cream worked wonders for me and doctors prescribe it all the time, so give it a shot—you've got nothing to lose 🙂 Keep in mind mine was external, but there are internal ones too (for those, the suppositories are good since they work from the inside—if you can stomach them, that is!) I also read a bunch of nonsense online and almost had a nervous breakdown, only for the doctor to tell me to just use the cream and call it a day. She didn't even really examine me, so I guess it's truly nothing serious... I hope your checkup wasn't too painful or awkward either... I'm honestly just so happy for you. I'm really hoping my hemorrhoids clear up soon, so I'll keep using the cream with high hopes... She didn't prescribe the suppositories, so I don't know... for now, I'll just stick to the cream and hopefully I won't go wrong with that... Big thanks and huge hugs for the help! 😍
...I just left my primary care doctor's office. Honestly? It wasn't even about getting a finger exam—she didn't even bother looking at me! She just scribbled a prescription for some Fact ointment and told me I should just watch my stool every day to see if there's blood or not... I'm totally lost, and honestly, I just feel like crying. I don't want to spend my life constantly checking the toilet every single day—I mean, I'm only 18! :/ 😢 Does that Fact ointment actually do anything? Is it just for internal hemorrhoids, or does it work for external ones too?

Ugh, it keeps messing with my head—I don't even feel the lump anymore... the last two times I was in the restroom, nothing hurt at all. Now, it doesn't even itch, I just occasionally feel like something is there, just... in the way? I don't know how to describe it! And those symptoms you mentioned—are we talking about external hemorrhoids specifically? Sometimes I get a little itchiness down there—nothing major, just a nuisance—but man, two days ago was something else! It was itching like crazy for two whole days straight... and then, just like that, it stopped all by itself. Who knows why?

But I honestly don't know if I should go or not... I just went to the bathroom again and didn't really feel any pain, though nothing much came out either :/ plus, I'm still on my period, so it's super hard to tell if the blood is from my stool or just my cycle... and I can't really feel any lumps or bumps down there either :/🤷

I've been sipping on tea too, but I'm terrified that if I sit still for too long, things will just get worse... so I'm basically pacing around constantly! And the absolute worst part? Honestly, I have no clue what the absolute worst part would be—like, I can't even wrap my head around it! :/ Since, you know, things down there are already a bit... messy? So, hmmm... how does one even feel if they're checking for something? Also, quick question—if I went to see my primary care doctor, would she actually perform the exam herself, or would she just write me a referral and let someone else handle it? I'm really hoping a finger in the butt is the most intense thing I'll have to deal with :S
