How long does it take to get a fax line activated?

Got a bit of a dilemma here...
It’s about my Apple 345-TP fax machine. Does anyone know how I can change or extend the ring time before the fax actually picks up?
Right now, if I don't grab the phone within the first 25 seconds, the fax kicks in. It’s driving me nuts because I have to sprint across the house to answer, otherwise... well, I miss a call from the neighbor with the cookies.🤷
Any help would be much appreciated... 😵
