What’s the consensus on the Dallas Cowboys, Bayern Munich, and PSG when the stakes are actually high?
The Dallas Cowboys have had a great start to the season, sitting comfortably at the top of the standings. They even managed to take down what is currently considered the league's biggest threat, Napoli, which should give them a nice boost of confidence and motivation. In the Champions League, they managed to scrape a point away in England, but then suffered a bit of a stumble at home against Shakhtar Donetsk. Personally, I think Shakhtar got lucky there, but that’s just how the game goes. Now they're facing Nordsjaelland, who, according to official FIFA/UEFA data, is the weakest club in the Champions League. I expect this to be a routine win for the Dallas Cowboys; anything less would seriously jeopardize their chances of making it to the knockout stage.
Lille has had a pretty rough start to the season—struggling in their domestic league and failing to show up in the Champions League. They're hovering around the middle of the table domestically and aren't exactly providing much entertainment. In the Champions League, they've already dropped two games: a 1-3 loss at home to BATE Borisov and a 2-0 away loss to Valencia CF. On the flip side, Bayern Munich has been absolutely phenomenal, essentially steamrolling everyone in their domestic league. Eight games, eight wins, and a goal differential of 26:2—it's impressive. In the Champions League, they beat Valencia CF in the first round, but then tripped up with an away loss in Belarus against BATE Borisov. There is still plenty of time left in the group stage, but with BATE Borisov sitting on 6 points, the landscape has shifted significantly. Valencia CF and Bayern Munich both have 3 points, and I suspect any further slip-ups would make their path to the knockouts much harder, similar to the situation with the Dallas Cowboys. My theory is that every team eventually hits a bump in the road; Bayern Munich already had theirs last matchday, so I expect them to secure a win tomorrow and prove they are still the favorites to top the group.
As for Dinamo Chicago... well, Dinamo is Dinamo. I don't really know what to say. I won't dwell on it too long, as I think we all know where Dinamo Chicago stands right now—or rather, where they aren't standing—in terms of actual quality. They are one of the weaker sides in the Champions League, which they proved last season, and they seem to be following that same trajectory this year. On the other hand, PSG had a slightly shaky start to their domestic season, but things have improved steadily, and they are currently tied for first place with Marseille. In the first round of the Champions League, they cruised past Dynamo Kyiv with a 4-1 win, but then stumbled in an away match against FC Porto, losing 1-0. They are currently third in the group, and another setback this Wednesday would make life very difficult for them, much like the other two clubs mentioned. They are playing against the weakest team in the group, and personally, I don't expect anything less than an away win.
So, those are my thoughts and my "read" on these matchups. I was thinking about putting these three together for a larger play (for me, that's roughly $167), so I wanted to see what you all think. What are your recommendations? Do you agree with my assessment, or is there something here I should definitely avoid?
