but there’s just nothing truly brutal about them, given what the thread title implies.🙂

Maybe we just have different definitions of "brutal." For me, the lyrics are the most important part. You could have an accordion playing in the background for all I care... as long as it hits hard enough!

To me, anything that breaks away from how 90% of people think is brutal. I'm talking about ditching that sugary-sweet, mainstream pop stuff with those cheesy lyrics...

For some folks, "brutal" only means death metal with satanic themes and vocals that sound like someone scraping a metal spatula against a wall...

That’s why I posted such a huge variety of genres in my opening post...

Basically, if it provokes someone from the "mainstream mass," I find it brutal. Lately, I've been busy provoking those romantic types with the little mustaches...

Hope you get where I'm coming from!

If you find those tracks brutal... then oh boy! :S

Just look at some perfectly normal songs by Cannibal Corpse 😁

Death Metal Lyrics

Memory of the insane
Of killing in so man ways, homicidal
Seeking redemption through rage
With hacksaws I decapitated them all
Blood covers the groud, my feet are saturated
Rotting flesh scattered around, I feel no remorse
I don't remember my name
Or when blood of the dead flowed so relentlessly
Extracting the brains from the skulls
My anger evolves with the more heads I deform
Sawing the neck I am engulfed in fantasy
Chew the esophagus, cannibal delicacy
Unknown, forver deleterious
Slicing through skin, sundered larynx, veins spraying blood
Tattered windpipe, facial carvings, another head to abhore
Beheading sustains my desire
Enhancing my primitive mind
Annihilation without repreving

[Solo - O'Brien]

Memory of the insane
Of killing in so man ways, homicidal
Seeking redemption through rage
With hacksaws I decapitated them at will
Predacious, violent killing spree
Unknown, putrescent cadavers
Unknown, sordid obscurity
Feverish hunger to inhale the stench of their death

Nah, I just threw together whatever came to mind! But the point is pretty obvious, right? What's wrong with Rammstein? 😕

How could I have possibly forgotten about Peru?? 🤦
Sorry, honey, it was just a dream. Since you're gone, I guess I love you just a little bit less...

The lyrics...? Music isn't everything to me, though I definitely lean toward rock genres. It doesn't always have to be about shredding guitars until they smoke. To me, the most important thing is that the message challenges all those mainstream clichés we're stuck with... But hey, can someone drop a link? That's why I even started this thread! 😉

After dealing with some seriously questionable stomach issues and seeing nothing but endless, cringey nonsense on Facebook, I finally decided to hunt down people who actually share my taste! I wanted to swap out all that mainstream pop fluff—you know, the stuff like Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran—for something with a bit more grit and reality.

To kick things off, here’s a little something

And maybe my absolute favorite

Plus one more classic from back home
