EGD
Esophagus: essentially normal...
Stomach: patchy hyperemia in the corpus, quite a bit of bile reflux present. The pylorus remains patent.
Duodenum: mild hyperemia and mucosal edema at the bulb, though everything post-bulbar looks fine. Biopsy samples were taken...

Biopsy
The material consists of duodenal mucosal fragments. For the most part, the villi appear regular, though some areas show slightly shorter and broader villi. The crypt architecture is preserved.
Per 100 enterocyte nuclei, there are fewer than 30 intraepithelial lymphocytes. The epithelium lining the crypts and villi shows a normal number of goblet cells, with no signs of degeneration. Within the lamina propria, there is a moderate, diffuse inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells, and occasional eosinophils.
The histological picture in this sample is non-specific and is classified as Type 0 according to the modified Marsh Oberhauber classification.

In my recent blood work (serology tests), my tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTg-FDA) came back at 139, which is quite high since anything over 20 is considered positive. Interestingly, my IgA and anti-gliadin levels were perfectly normal. Because celiac disease was the primary suspicion—and clearly the only one on the table, according to my gastroenterologist—I went ahead with a gastroscopy. However, the results showed a "Marsh Oberhauber type 0," which basically means it isn't celiac disease... What’s bothering me is that my gastroenterologist admitted he has no idea why the FDA levels were so elevated. My GP suggested I get my blood drawn again in two months, and if those levels remain positive, he’ll refer me to an immunologist. Does anyone have any insight into what might be happening? They did mention I have some gastritis; I had been taking ABC plus some supplements, which caused a few days of diarrhea, though that stopped once I quit the supplements. Still, the gastroenterologist insisted the gastritis wasn't the cause of such a high FDA reading. I should probably also mention that lately, I haven't had any diarrhea, heartburn, or vomiting. But, when I lie down, my stomach makes incredibly loud growling noises, even long after I've eaten... I also occasionally feel a dull ache near my appendix area. Most strangely, my spleen starts acting up after walking just about 20 meters. It feels odd because I'm only 21... I'm certainly not a retiree yet.
