Hi there!
I posted about my issues a couple of pages back, but let me give you a quick recap. I’m currently taking esomeprazole because my internist says I have acute gastritis. I’ve had full blood work and urine tests done twice now. My liver looks fine, except for a GGT of 62 (the ref range goes up to 55), and in my last blood test, only my MPV was slightly elevated. So, no parasites, no bacteria, nothing... Urine is totally clear.
The thing is, I’m still dealing with this dull, increasingly uncomfortable ache right under my right rib cage, along with occasional sharp pains on my right side. My stomach doesn't hurt at all—no nausea, no vomiting, no fever, and I don't feel weak. Honestly, I feel great, except for that pain (kind of like when your spleen hurts during exercise), located just under that right rib cage area.
An ultrasound showed everything is normal—liver, pancreas, kidneys, you name it—except for my stomach, which has a very thickened and irritated posterior wall, and some sludge in my gallbladder. My stools look normal too. They haven't sent me for any specific analysis yet.

My doctor is stumped, so she referred me to a gastroenterologist, but the appointment isn't for another two months! In the meantime, she sent me for microbiology tests and a hepatitis panel. Currently, I'm taking Generic, esomeprazole, and colospu (my gut is pretty noisy lately with gas and cramps here and there). I’m feeling a bit lost. Two months feels like forever to wait for a GI specialist when this pain is getting more intense. As for the hepatitis stuff, I don't feel sick—no vomiting, no jaundice, no fatigue, just this pain... To be clear, it's not the kind of pain where I need to grab a pill, but it's enough to make it hard to function normally. Interestingly, it actually feels better if I stand up and take a light walk.
Please help! Or even if someone just has an idea of what might be going on...
Thanks

I dealt with H. pylori and GERD before, which left my stomach lining pretty thick. Last year, the H. pylori was finally gone, but I still deal with acid issues. Prilosec has been helping quite a bit.
Recently, I went to see my doctor because of some pain under my right rib that radiates to my back—classic gallbladder or GERD symptoms—plus some occasional lower abdominal discomfort. It’s not excruciating, just really annoying. No fever, urine looks fine, and my digestion is normal. However, high-fiber foods seem to sit heavy and don't digest well. Right now, I'm on some GERD meds (can't remember the exact name, something ending in "...ulf" or "...ufl"...)

Here are my blood results:
My hematology is mostly fine, except for MCHC at 351 (ref 320-345), MPV at 11.7 (ref 6.8 to 10.4), basophils at 0.07 (ref up to 0.06), and another basophil reading of 1.2 (ref 0-1). My GGT is also a bit elevated at 61.2 (ref up to 55).
As for my urine test: everything looks totally normal, though there was a lot of mucus, but I guess that could be anything.
So, no signs of infection; leukocytes and everything else look okay.

I'm headed for an ultrasound soon to find out more. My doctor suspects stones because it hurts quite a bit under my ribs when I take a deep breath. She already ruled out kidney issues and appendicitis. Honestly, the pain isn't bad enough to need meds most of the time. Since starting my diet and therapy, the acid reflux has vanished. I don't drink or smoke either. I'm wondering, can gallbladder issues cause lower abdominal pain? And does this data suggest anything specific to you guys?

Back again! Just got my ultrasound results. Liver is fine, pancreas is fine—pretty much everything looks good. As for the gallbladder, there's some sludge at the bottom, but no actual stones. However, the doctor said my stomach lining is super thick and looks like acute gastritis. No H. pylori present.
Following up on all that: should I get an endoscopy, or just stick with the Generic therapy?

Basically, no signs of infection; white blood cell counts and everything else look okay.

I have an ultrasound scheduled soon to get more answers. My doctor suspects gallstones because it gets pretty tender under my ribs when I take a deep breath. She already ruled out kidney issues and appendicitis. Honestly, the pain isn't bad enough to require meds most of the time. Since starting my treatment and sticking to a diet, the acid reflux has actually disappeared! I don't drink alcohol or smoke either.
