Can someone help me make sense of these endoscopy results:
Reason for procedure: persistent coughing paired with post-nasal drip... this happens every winter.... constant drainage both internally and externally, plus the coughing.
1. Diagnosis: chronic gastritis. The samples consist of four small tissue fragments, roughly 2mm in diameter, which histologically represent gastric mucosa covered by columnar epithelium. Within the lamina propria, alongside glands showing some reactive changes, there is moderate mononuclear cell infiltration. Giemsa staining showed no evidence of H. pylori colonization in these samples.
>>6>> 2. Diagnosis: gastric hyperplastic polyp. Samples include three small tissue pieces, 1-3 mm in diameter, representing gastric mucosa with polypoid formations. These have granular surfaces covered by tall columnar epithelium with increased mucus production; the sparse connective stroma contains glands lined by the same epithelial type. It isn't possible to determine the relationship of the formation to the base from this specific sample.
