Hey everyone. I could really use some help deciphering these lab results. For the last few weeks, I’ve been feeling totally wiped out—just constant fatigue and sleeping all day. Even the smallest tasks leave me exhausted, and I’ve been super jittery and irritable lately. Everything points back to my thyroid, which I’m already treating, but my most recent labs show my thyroid levels are actually fine. Since iron deficiency can mimic those exact same symptoms, I decided to check that too. I’ll just list the values that look off since everything else fell within the normal range here:
Hematocrit 0.437 (0.356-0.470)
MCHC 317 (320-345)
Fe 14 (8-30)
TIBC 41.2 (49-75)
UIBC 27.4 (26-59)
Ferritin 92 (13-150)
Based on this, should I be looking into iron supplements? Is it possible that these slightly low numbers are enough to cause everything I'm feeling? Thanks in advance for any insight.
