Thanks so much for getting back to me 🙂
I have no clue why my HDL stays stuck at 0.8...
And about the MPV—are you sure it doesn't matter that mine is 11.2 when the max is supposed to be 10.4? I was scrolling through some health forums online and saw people freaking out over anything in the 11.x range, so naturally, I started stressing too.
Hey everyone, I'm 25, about 5'11", weighing around 210 lbs. I have one drink a month and I don't smoke... I've noticed over my last few blood tests, spanning about two years, that a few specific markers just won't stay in the normal range. My doctor says everything looks fine, but looking things up online, sometimes a certain combo of numbers can point toward something else, so I'm looking for a second opinion here. Basically, my MCV is always low—just slightly under the limit—my MCHC is consistently a little above the limit, and my MPV stays high too. On top of that, my HDL (good cholesterol) is always running low.
My most recent blood work came back two days ago, and here's what we're looking at:
MCV 82.6 (83.0-97.0)
MCHC 347 (320-345)
MPV 11.2 (6.8-10.4)
- THOSE THREE PARAMETERS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS THE SAME. THIS TIME THE MPV HIT 11.2, WHICH IS MY HIGHEST YET; BEFORE THIS IT PEAKED AT 10.8.
Total Cholesterol 3.1 (recommended up to 5.0)
HDL - 0.8 (should be over 1.0)
LDL 1.8 (recommended up to 3)
Triglycerides 1.2 (recommended up to 1.7)
Iron 13 (11-32) - I read somewhere that when you're looking at MCV, MPV, and MCHC, you really need to factor in iron levels, so I figured I'd include it.
I don't actually have any symptoms or anything. I'm working full-time, standing on my feet for 8 hours every single day... If anyone knows anything or has some insight, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for the help.
