Hey everyone,

I just went back and pulled my lab results from about four months ago...

Would love to get some thoughts on this...

Thanks.

Maria Fisher46 said:Hey there,

Looking at these results, the first thing that jumps out is that high transferrin saturation, even though the ferritin levels look totally normal. That could be one of those early red flags for iron overload. Since iron concentrations can swing wildly from day to day, you really shouldn't bank on just one test... it’s not reliable enough. I’d suggest waiting a few weeks and then running the labs again. If that saturation is still hanging high, then we talk about more serious follow-ups. Also, cholesterol is creeping up a bit, so cleaning up the diet might be a good move. As for the urine test, everything looks fine. A slightly higher epithelial cell count isn't a medical issue—it just means the sample touched skin during collection.

When you say high transferrin saturation, are you talking about low UIBC?

I'll definitely redo the labs in maybe 2-3 weeks...

and try to cut back on all the high-iron foods...
Maria Fisher46 said:Look, folks,

to actually make sense of these lab results, we need some context. Why did you even go in for testing? Any symptoms? Existing medical issues? Any weird flags in your bloodwork history? Are you an athlete, or did you just crush a heavy workout right before the draw? Check the guide in the opening post of this thread and come back with more details if you want a real answer.

Later,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I don't have any symptoms and I'm not dealing with any illnesses...

No specific instructions from a doctor either. I just get these routine panels done twice a year on my own initiative.

My iron levels and urinalysis have always been totally fine in the past.

Not really into sports.

No intense physical exertion beforehand...

Appreciate the help...
Hey,

Just got back from getting some bloodwork and a urine test done today.

It was part of my annual checkup at the clinic.

Can anyone make sense of these high and low numbers?

I'm trying to figure out what's actually up or down here...
