Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
So, here’s my deal. A couple of months back, I dealt with some hemorrhoids; they weren't exactly a joy, but they weren't too painful either and eventually cleared up, thank God. Fast forward to a few days ago, and a new one has popped up—about the size of a grape, I guess—and the pain is just brutal. I can barely sit down, so I’ve pretty much been stuck in bed for the last two days. There’s this little red spot on it that bleeds a bit; it’s not a constant flow, but it looks raw, probably from the friction of walking around. I can't really afford to see a private doctor right now since my finances are a total disaster, and even if I could, they'd probably just tell me to stay in bed and rest. I've been using HemeroProtect for two days now, but honestly, I’m not seeing much of an improvement. I was wondering if sitting actually makes things worse, like if it increases the swelling or just slows down the healing process? Also, does anyone know what might help dull the pain for just a few hours? Sitting in a bath isn't really an option because I don't have the setup at my job.
Thanks in advance

Hey everyone, I guess I'm joining the club here too 🙂
About six months ago, I dealt with my first external hemorrhoid, so I just grabbed some cream at a local pharmacy and it cleared up in maybe four or five days.
But then about a week ago, another external one popped up, and even though I've been applying cream for a week now, it hasn't really changed size. It doesn't actually hurt, it's just this bluish little lump. Now, after a bowel movement, I think another one flared up—kind of like a red little cushion—it doesn't hurt either, and I just gently pushed it back inside, so I have a few questions...
1. Is it somewhat normal for a hemorrhoid to hang around for more than a week without shrinking?
2. Regarding this new one, should I expect things to get worse tomorrow, or could it just stay exactly like this? (I'm mostly asking because the one I had six months ago was pretty painful.)
3. Is this new one external or internal? (Just wondering.)
I'm 20 years old, if that matters at all.
