Congrats. My advice to anyone else dealing with this is that it is curable. Don't just sit there in pain. Go see a specialist and do whatever they recommend. Reading this forum is actually what gave me the push to finally book my own appointment. Best,

Yeah, no regrets here. If I’d known how much easier it would be, I would've handled this way sooner. Honestly, if you're dealing with hemorrhoids, just go see a proctologist. Get checked out and get the procedure done if you need it...

It was uncomfortable and painful for the first 4 or 5 days. I had a bowel movement the very next morning, and again that evening, and that continued for about 10 days. That first one, and all the others during those first few days, were uncomfortable and painful, but manageable. Once you feel the urge, you just sit down, do your business without straining, and you're up in about 20 seconds. Then you wash up with a gentle shower, dry off, and apply some Hemero protect. My doctor told me to apply it using gauze...
As for regular activities, it took about 15 days. Yeah, I'm certain the DG HAL + DG RAR procedure was performed under general anesthesia.
No catheter for me, and they didn't use a scalpel either. It's a method where they tie off the arteries supplying blood to the hemorrhoids.
I’m originally from the US, but I developed hemorrhoids back in '92 when I was at the Manjaca camp. After getting out of Manjaca, the issues started mild, then just kept spiraling. By 2013, every single bathroom trip was pure agony. It made working impossible... I had to wait until late at night just to go, hoping the pain would subside by morning so I could actually function during the day. I tried everything—creams, pills, strict diets—but nothing worked. My quality of life was non-existent. Reading through this thread, I finally decided to take action. On October 1st, 2013, I called the Arithera clinic. We had a very pleasant conversation, and they arranged for me to see a proctologist that same day. They told me if I needed surgery—either HAL or RAR—they could get me in by October 14th. I arrived at the clinic at 7:30 AM. After handling the paperwork, they sent me for an EKG and blood work. While waiting for the results, they took me to a hospital room where I changed into a gown. This was actually my first time ever seeing a doctor... Around 10:00 AM, the doctor arrived and introduced himself as Dr. Velnic. He was very friendly, explaining that he’d perform the exam and proceed with the procedure if everything looked okay. At noon, I went into the operating room. The surgery was done under general anesthesia. I woke up in the recovery room at 12:30 PM and stayed there until 3:00 PM. The doctor told me I was at stage 3 or 4, so he performed the HAL + RAR method, involving 8 ligations and 4 lifts since the hemorrhoids were external. Follow-up was set for a month later. I paid $3667. That day, I slept at a hotel, and the next day I headed back home to the US. The pain lasted for about 4 or 5 days; they prescribed me Ketonal forte 100 mg. When I went back for my check-up a month later, everything was fine. Now, four months after the procedure, I am a healthy man. This
