Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice?

I’ve been catching up on a lot of the posts here lately. I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a private specialist in Washington, D.C. I’ve read about Dr. Phil, who is clearly an expert, but I’ve also seen quite a few comments suggesting his bedside manner can be pretty "rough." If you have a private doctor you’d personally trust for both a consultation and surgery, please let me know. Help a person out!
