Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Hey everyone,
I’ve been lurking on this forum quite a bit lately, so I figured I’d jump in and offer some advice.
If you’re dealing with hemorrhoids, my best bet is to dig through the info here, but for actual medical help? Go see a specialist. People love to act like it's no big deal or totally harmless... trust me, they're wrong. I know firsthand.
My own nightmare started about 20 years ago. I'm 37 now, and thanks to using all sorts of random creams and listening to bad advice, things spiraled into an emergency surgery. It actually left me with anemia—my iron was tanking, hemoglobin down to 55. Honestly, if I hadn't been lucky, I might have ended up with permanent damage to my liver, kidneys, heart, or brain. I had to undergo a Milligan-Morgan procedure, and man, the pain is unreal. I’m popping four 100mg Ketorolac Forte pills at a time just to cope. I’m basically pacing around my house, jumping when the pain hits me. I'm on my fourth bowel movement already; I won't even mention the first one...
Don't let embarrassment stop you. Five minutes of being ashamed is better than five years of agony... it'll save you. If you end up needing surgery, make sure you have heavy-duty painkillers or narcotics ready. Avoid Voltaren, though—it can trigger bleeding. I'm gonna go pace around the room a bit more, then maybe I'll check back in. Take care...
