Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice?

Hey everyone, so this past Sunday I ended up with some massive "external hemorrhoids"—or honestly, I think it might be perianal thrombosis since I haven't really dealt with internal hemorrhoid issues before. After doing some chamomile baths, applying Fact cream, and using some St. John's Wort oil... things have calmed down a little bit. The inflammation has gone down, but they're still there, about the size of a pea. I was wondering what those of you with more experience here would suggest I do? I was thinking about asking my doctor to prescribe Daflon, since I've seen quite a few of you mention how much it helped.
