I stuck strictly to a soft diet—mostly soups and stews—until my hemorrhoids finally cleared up. I needed to make the recovery process as easy as possible and minimize any strain during bowel movements, because let me tell you, they were so swollen that even the simplest trip to the bathroom was an absolute nightmare.
