Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice?

Hey everyone. I signed up because I can't seem to find any decent info anywhere.
1. How much does hemorrhoid banding—or ligation, if you want to be fancy—actually cost?
I'm originally from Canada, but I assume prices are pretty similar here in the States.
2. Is there anything to help relax the anal sphincter muscles besides those injections I keep reading about online🙄? Ever since my first hemorrhoid flared up, the whole area feels constantly cramped and tight. It doesn't hurt, but it feels tense whenever I touch it.
I used to get a hemorrhoid once a year; it would clear up fast, wouldn't hurt much, didn't bleed, and just went away with some ointments. But after this last inflammation, it hasn't gone back down. It’s just been sitting there for months. No pain, but this little lump is annoying for hygiene reasons and looks bad, so I'm constantly trying not to irritate it. I've tried every cream and ointment out there—Advil, Pilex, you name it—just to get it to shrink, but I think this might be permanent. To me, it feels more like excess skin now.
I'm not exactly rolling in cash to pay for lasers or freezing treatments, but I really want this fixed.
