Hey everyone.
My mom is 60. She deals with high blood pressure, but she manages to keep it under control with her medication. Over the last few months, though, she's been dealing with some pretty bad swelling from fluid retention. Her heart and kidneys seem to be functioning normally according to the doctors. On top of that, she’s finding it really tough to walk up hills lately. What do you guys think could be causing all this fluid buildup? You can clearly see how swollen her ankles have become. Thanks!

Thanks. Honestly, someone there just messed up and they're too proud to admit it.
I've been trying to reach them for days now—calling, emailing, you name it—but I'm getting nowhere. They just keep telling me, "Oh, call this person" or "
call over there." It feels like we're just going to end up having to hunt down a brand-new referral altogether.

Can anyone give me an idea of how long the wait is from submitting a referral to actually getting an appointment for a specific scan at Mayo Clinic? We aren't local to NYC, so we're a bit out of the loop. A friend turned in the referral about a month ago, and we still haven't heard anything, even though they said they'd call us with an update. Apparently, they prioritize based on urgency, but still...
I really wish they’d give us at least a rough estimate. I get that there will always be someone with a more urgent case, but a little heads-up would go a long way.

Around here, they’re even working out in the orchards. Since we were all still young and reckless, we played around a little too much, and well... that's how childhood games end up turning into real life.

Ugh, everything is closed here in Canada until Monday. There’s this little red dot on my skin, almost looks like a tiny broken capillary. I've been using cold compresses on it—is that actually okay?

I actually know a little girl who was dealt a similar diagnosis. Fast forward to today, and she’s already grown up and turned out to be the smartest kid in her neighborhood.

My sweetie just took a direct hit right to the eye. I'm really looking for some advice from anyone who's dealt with this before—what should I be doing? Maybe a cold compress or something...
