Maria Grant42 said:Both Haldol and Cogentin can cause side effects like that.

With Haldol, you might deal with insomnia, restlessness, anxiety (feeling uneasy or fearful), euphoria, drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, seizures, or even hallucinations... just a few examples of what can happen.

Some side effects can also stem from how Haldol interacts with Cogentin.

Regardless, it's crucial that the Haldol dosage is constantly monitored to ensure it isn't too high and to find that sweet spot for the right dose.

Do you really have to be on Haldol? Is it actually helping you?

Yes, I've actually asked my doctor if we should switch things up, but he advises that this is currently the best solution for me because of the intrusive thoughts I'm struggling with. I did ask about combining it with other medications, but he exclusively recommended sticking with Haldol.

I’m looking for some insight from anyone who might have some experience or knowledge regarding my current medication routine. Right now, I’m taking 20 drops of Haldol in the morning and 20 drops in the evening, along with a dose of Cogentin every morning. Lately, I’ve been experiencing these bouts of confusion and headaches that tend to hit in the late afternoon or during the evening. When this happens, I just feel an intense urge to smoke, and I completely lose my appetite. It’s like I just want to withdraw into my own little world. Does anyone know if this could be a side effect of the Haldol? I did talk to my doctor about it, but he decided to keep my prescription exactly the same. His only suggestion was to try taking my evening dose a bit later to ensure there's at least a 10–12 hour gap between doses, or perhaps even dropping the evening dose down to 10 drops. I would truly appreciate any help or advice you all are willing to share.

It would be a good idea to get a urine culture done; that will identify the specific strain of bacteria so you can get the right antibiotic. Even if you aren't feeling anything right now, these results point toward an infection that could flare up later if left untreated. If it does progress, you might start experiencing things like frequent trips to the bathroom for very little output, blood in your urine, pain or burning during urination, or that constant, nagging feeling that you need to go when you actually can't.

You don't even realize what a wonderful thing you've done today. Thank you so much. I can finally head to bed with some peace of mind now that everything has been explained so clearly. Wishing you all the very best!
This all sounds incredibly fascinating to me, but honestly, your feedback or any comments you might have would mean the world to me!
Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me make sense of these lab results.
A few things are outside the standard range:
ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) 27
MCV 79.3
MCH 26.2
Total Cholesterol 5.8
LDL Cholesterol 3.5

Urinalysis findings:
Leukocyte esterase positive+
WBC (White Blood Cells) 5-10
Squamous epithelial cells: many
Bacteria: many

I’d really appreciate it if anyone with medical knowledge or similar experience could tell me what this might point toward. I tried doing a little digging online, and it looks like it could be some kind of inflammation or an infection, but I’m just not entirely sure.
Thanks so much in advance, Hannah Davis10
