Well, I basically decided to pull the trigger on the surgery because any kind of real physical effort would just—boom—leave my pants looking pretty bloody (not even being dramatic here). I actually went to a clinic in Columbus (though I'm originally from Fort Wayne) because I heard they do amazing work over there, and honestly, the staff was super helpful and great to work with. The only thing tripping me up right now is that first bowel movement... it just won't budge 🙂 and I don't even have gas passing through yet.

So, I had my hemorrhoid surgery two days ago (this past Monday). I finally started eating again yesterday—had some honey on toast for breakfast, then meat in gravy with boiled potatoes for lunch. My doctors actually suggested taking some Miralax to help things move along smoothly for that first bowel movement. Well, huge mistake. It’s been an absolute disaster. I honestly can't even sleep because the pain is so intense; I can feel all this pressure building up in my gut, but whenever I try to hit the bathroom, it feels like everything is just completely blocked down there. I'm straining so hard it hurts like crazy—I swear, I feel like screaming. But nothing happens.

Does anyone have any advice? Like, what am I actually allowed to do after a procedure like this? I'm just waiting for the doctors to come by for my check-up so I can beg them for an enema. What do you guys think about that?

Please, if anyone has any tips, seriously, anything helps. Thanks, and hope you're all doing okay.
