Maria Diaz79 said:Hey guys, does anyone know what I should apply to this irritated skin once the dressing comes off? Looking for something to speed up the healing process...

My doctor actually recommended Bepanthen cream. It’s the stuff they use on babies, and honestly, it worked wonders for me. I used it specifically on the areas where my stitches were removed... works great.🍿

Look, I had my surgery about a month ago. I barely hesitated, honestly—I just knew I wanted it, and strangely enough, I wasn't even scared... which is weird for me. It’s a big decision, though. A lot depends on whether you actually trust the surgeon after meeting them... anyway, maybe skip doing it in the summer. You can't really be out in the sun for a while, and that's a bummer.🙂

I had my surgery just a month ago. Believe me when I say this is all perfectly normal, especially during those first few days. I’ve been through this process quite a bit, so I know... even now, it still hurts if you touch the area, but that’s just part of the deal. It was major surgery after all 🙂

From what I’ve dealt with, the surgery itself wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I didn't experience any real pain immediately following the procedure or anything like that. The only truly miserable part was trying to sleep with my mouth wide open... honestly, I think that's the biggest hurdle for everyone 🙂..I didn't have my operation with that specific doctor, but that's just my personal take... and Linda, if I were you, I'd suggest staying put that day. Even if you felt like you could head home, you just never know how you'll react. It's better to just sleep it off for one night. In my opinion, anyone going through this should stay at the facility for at least that first day. Just a thought...

I had my procedure done at Clinton’s clinic in Palm Springs, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with the results... I know people say it costs a bit more than the other places around here, but I don't regret a single cent since everything turned out so perfectly 🙂.. so, what about you? Are you already post-op, or are you still waiting?

Hey ladies... just wanted to let you know my bandages came off after about three or four days.

How long does it usually take before those tiny stitches in the nose start falling out?

Listen, ladies, I have to head out. I want to wish everyone a fantastic night... and for those of you who, like me, are currently recovering from surgery, please take care of yourselves and watch out for any potential injuries🙂. Honestly, just thinking about all the people I’ll have to congratulate and hug... I’m actually worried they might break me... hmm... maybe I should just wear some padding... heh, heh...🙂🙂🙂GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! BYE BYE

He didn't show me anything, though I didn't exactly ask. It’s pointless anyway; everyone ends up with a different result, and there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all look. I just stood there in front of the mirror, letting him show me what needed fixing, while he sort of mimicked holding the nose job in place with his fingers... just so I could see how the profile might actually turn out.😉

Just wanted to chime in here for a moment. Jesse Taylor7, believe me when I say I’m usually a pretty anxious person by nature, and I’ve honestly never even stepped foot in an operating room before this. I don't know any of you, but he instilled such a deep sense of trust in me that going into surgery felt as routine as running an errand... When I finally laid down on the table and the nurse started the anesthesia, the anesthesiologist was right there beside me, gently patting my hair and telling me to just drift off into a beautiful dream... I didn't feel even a shred of fear 🙂..But what about the rest of you??
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
Don't mention it🙂..I took care of everything for you back when I was in Santa Barbara. But looking at what people are saying, prices seem to vary wildly depending on who you talk to, so you should definitely shop around... I originally went in for cosmetic work, but once I finally came around from the anesthesia and could actually hold a conversation, the surgeon told me he’d performed functional surgery too. I had no idea my airways were even in such bad shape... With private practices, obviously, you're paying full price whether it's just functional or not, but as for the public hospitals, I honestly don't know how they handle those cases...

If you’re asking me, I already paid you 18... $0.00I was actually just about to ask Leon how much that whole ordeal ended up costing him in the end... I mean, did he have to fork over even more cash because of that mistake, or...?

Well, it happened, and now it's over. What matters is that things are finally being set right and the mistake is being corrected... I have to say, I have a massive amount of respect for those surgeons. You have to know exactly how to handle all of that, and then you have to practice it on actual people...

So, how did that whole situation end up getting resolved? I guess things like that happen sometimes... hopefully everything is back on track now?🙂 =)

[]What happened to you? I really hope it isn't anything serious...

What can I say? Heh. I guess it looks like neither of us felt like waking up today... maybe we were just having too many good dreams 🙂. It’s a relief there was some swelling, because even then, you could tell it was going to turn out great once everything settled down... Thursday marks exactly three weeks since the surgery, and honestly, I am just super happy with how everything is going. And I totally agree—people ask surgeons for absolute miracles all the time. What did you mean by saying I don't scare you though...? Hmmm 😢?

I had a very similar experience myself. I didn't feel any pain at all; the only thing was that breathing through my mouth felt a little awkward for a bit, but that passed... I ended up having quite a few procedures done—correcting my posture, the tip of my nose, the bridge, narrowing, and the septum. It was all done under general anesthesia, so I didn't feel a single thing. All I know is they told me at the end it took them about 20 minutes just to wake me up... heh, heh...

Brenda Reed3, you actually had me laughing with that comment. You've got a point there... haha... Listen, dear wearynomad88, maybe your nose wasn't even that bad before the surgery, so perhaps that's why you feel like it could have turned out better. I honestly don't know. Or maybe everyone feels that way at first, and then things settle down and look fine eventually. Personally, I suspect what you're seeing is likely just some bruising that will clear up on its own... yeah, definitely. 🙂

I used to go with larger implants, wider ones... but now I've opted for a narrower shape and a slight lift. Honestly, it looks perfect to me now, at least from my perspective🙂

Look, I was just there recently... and yeah, maybe that trampoline setup you’re talking about looks great. Personally, I’m quite fond of my little "miniature" version (haha), mostly because it's just cute. But honestly, everything needs time to settle down. Everyone's body reacts differently to these things, after all... wearynomad88, maybe you really just need to wait for everything to fall back into place. It might just be how your system responds. All I can say is I hope everything works out exactly the way you wanted it to 🙂
