First off, thanks for the deep dive 🙂 you really laid it all out for me there. But honestly, I’m still stuck on the whole search process—like, how does that actually go down? And those injections... they're definitely making me a bit nervous. Do they give you anesthesia for those, and what’s the actual point of them anyway?
I'm low-key terrified that my grandma might end up losing her sight... I mean, realistically, how big of a risk is we're talking about here?

So, my grandma's been dealing with Type 2 diabetes for 25 years now, and she’s headed into the hospital in about two weeks
because her vision is getting pretty bad—it's really starting to worry me. I have a few questions...
Specifically, what's the deal with the FAG testing and photocoagulation? Do they actually put you under with
general anesthesia for those, or is it something else?
Also, what's the point of those eye injections they mentioned? And do those require any kind of
numbing or sedation? (The doctors said she'll need them since her eyes are all swollen up)
And does anyone know how long this hospital stay might actually last? Like, is it something
long-term or just a quick thing?
If anyone knows anything at all, please let me know—I'm honestly spiraling a bit here...😢
