Hello everyone.
I'm looking for some perspective on my brother's recent lab results. He's been dealing with intense pain in his sternum and right hip for nearly a month now. He can barely sit up or lie down without severe pain, especially during sudden movements. He’s 18, and frankly, his doctor brushed him off initially, assuming he just needed an apology for a PE class incident. Now that we finally secured referrals, he’s had chest and sinus X-rays, which came back clear. His orthopedic specialist requested an X-ray of the thoracic and lumbar spine, while his internist ordered an echocardiogram, CRP, rheumatoid factor, iron studies (Fe, UIBC, TIBC, ferritin), and an ABS test, along with a targeted sternum scan due to a heart murmur. He also has an ingrown toenail on his left foot, so there's even a concern about potential sepsis...
The tension at home is reaching a breaking point. Has anyone encountered something similar or could suggest further testing? I would be very grateful for any insight.
