So, here’s the situation: I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis a few years back. For a while after that, I was on Synthroid...
My hormone levels finally stabilized. My doctor told me I don't need any more treatment for now, and he noted in my results that I should just come back for a follow-up in three or four years.
So, I just went ahead and rechecked my TSH and Free T4 levels again.
The lab results came back: TSH/Thyrotropin is sitting at 7.80. The normal range is listed as 0.4 to 4.0.
Free T4 at 16.1. Normal range is 9–22.
It’s pretty clear my TSH is running quite high. I'm wondering what the next steps in treatment might look like from here?
So, back to the same question: is it Synthroid every morning before breakfast, or something else?
Thanks in advance. Best regards!
