It feels like every time someone expresses an opinion or writes something provocative, there's someone ready to take it to a violent extreme. At what point do we admit that some people are just looking for an excuse to lash out?

Honestly, I’d love to jump on the Coffee Lake bandwagon, but when am I actually going to see some decent ITX motherboards hit the shelves here? I can't wait forever... Just saw the prices pop up at Best Buy for the i3 8350k $504—delivery expected by Oct 11th—and they've got the i5 8600k listed too $746 though the shipping date for that one is a total mystery https://www.bestbuy.com/processors/intel-coffee-lake https://www.bestbuy.com/processors/intel-coffee-lake

I picked up the CPU, motherboard, and RAM back in March of last year—before the G4560 was even a thing—but everything else is from earlier this year. Honestly, it feels pretty stupid to drop money on a new i5 when my current board still has six months of warranty left. And who knows? Once the new platform drops, will I even be able to find decent ITX boards? My whole plan was to grab a used i5 just in case things shift, so I could offload this CPU without taking a massive hit, but apparently, nobody’s actually selling them. Everyone keeps raving about the G4560, but does it actually matter for me? Right now, I’m just playing poker with YouTube running and ten different Mozilla tabs open to track stats, and the whole thing feels sluggish—sometimes it even stutters. That's why I want a beefier processor, or maybe I should just jump to Ryzen? I just need to know which one won't start acting up in two or three years.

I was looking for a used i5 7400 or 7500—but they’re nowhere to be found. All I see is the i5 6400, which feels like a total waste of time. So, what Ryzen should I grab that actually holds its own against an i5? I just want to be set for the next 2–3 years without my PC becoming a paperweight. Most of my time is spent surfing, watching YouTube, or movies—maybe 10% playing sports games at most. Since options are slim, I was eyeing this motherboard: ASRock AB350 gaming ITX / AC. Here is what I'm running right now:

Intel G4500
Asus B150l Pro gaming WiFi aura
Gigabyte RX570 Aorus
8GB DDR4 Kingston Hyper x Fury 2400
Samsung 850 evo 250 GB
Corsair RM650x
Fractal Nano S

I’d probably grab that i30co—but I noticed it’s 161mm while my case supports up to 165mm. Is that actually okay? It feels a bit tight—almost too close for comfort—but if there's no issue, I'll just pull the trigger and order it right now.

Which exact Corsair Hydro Series cooler did you pick up—the A30 or the other one? I'm hunting for something for my G3258 right now, and this looks like a solid deal—especially since you mentioned it’s quiet. That’s really the main thing for me.
Motherboard connector for graphics card? in Desktops ·
Look, I’m not even going to try and fix it—unless something actually breaks and I need to take it in for service. Since I just dropped money on a new PC and a graphics card three months ago, I’m good for at least another couple of years. I was just worried about whether the thing would even run without that clip. Honestly, how do they make these pins so thin? One little squeeze and it snapped like it was made of glass. I've got an ASUS motherboard in here, and once I seated the GPU, everything felt solid—not moving an inch. As long as it runs, I can finally get back to my games.

I already screwed it onto the chassis—thanks to both of you for the help

Larry Ortiz5 said:Are you talking about that latch—the one you press to pop the card out of the PCIe slot? You won't run into any issues unless you plan on swapping GPUs down the road... it might just be a little more stubborn to pull out later, that's all.

I’m just not sure if that thing actually ejects the card at the end of the PCIe slot—it's my first time installing a GPU, and I read somewhere online that some people call it a graphics card lock. No one mentioned if it's okay for the card to function like that, so I figured I'd ask. It doesn't matter if it's harder to remove—I'm not planning on touching it again anyway. I was just worried I'd need a new motherboard, and I literally just bought this one.

I just snapped one of those little plastic tabs on my PCIe slot while I was seating my GPU—so, does the card still work without it, or am I looking at buying a whole new motherboard?

Hey there.
I need some advice on a GPU upgrade for under $500 that won't choke my current setup. I'm running an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 on an ASRock H81M board, paired with a Corsair CX430 PSU, 8GB of Kingston DDR3, and a 1TB WD Blue drive. My monitor is a Samsung Odyssey G5.
I was eyeing this EVGA GeForce GTX 970, but honestly, I'm not sure if it'll play nice with my rig—most people using one seem to have way beefier CPUs than mine.
