I went for blood work this morning and my numbers are through the roof. AST is at 1000 (normal is up to 0.58), ALT is 1078 (normal is up to 0.74), and S-Gama GT hit 1390 (normal is 0.92). For context, I’m 6'1" and over 330 lbs, though I've been on a diet for about a week now. These results honestly spooked me. How do I get these numbers down? I know, I know—everyone is going to tell me to lose weight, but if it were that simple, I would have done it a long time ago. Please, if anyone knows what these levels actually imply, let me know. What kind of consequences am I looking at? Oh, and I don't have my bilirubin levels; my doctor didn't think it was worth checking. HELP !!!!!!!😕

You didn't say why you had your blood drawn or provide any actual medical history regarding your symptoms. Regardless, you need to get those labs redone. You should also schedule a cardiac stress test and repeat your AST, ALT, and bilirubin levels. Your doctor will definitely order hepatitis screening, and they might check for mononucleosis too. On top of all that, you really ought to get an abdominal ultrasound.
