Hey everyone!

My cholesterol was sitting at 5.6 and triglycerides were up at 4.9, so my doctor put me on 10 mg of Sortis. I’ve been taking it consistently for 3 months now.
Just got my latest blood work back and here’s the breakdown: cholesterol 3.97, triglycerides 2.3, HDL 0.92, LDL 2.16, AST 27, ALT 55, and gamma GT 123 !!!

Is that last number something I should be worried about?!
What’s my next move?
So, can I actually drink alcohol while taking Sortis?
The manual says you should cut back on booze
Like, down to the absolute bare minimum?!

From what I can see, with a double dose of family history and other risk factors like blood pressure and lipids, you really ought to stick to whatever your cardiologist prescribed. The guy went to med school for this, after all.
Sortis might mess with your liver, but it doesn't happen to everyone. If it were truly dangerous, they wouldn't be handing it out. Just get your liver enzymes checked every now and then.

So you're saying I gotta stay on Sortis indefinitely?!
Will Sortis eventually bring my cholesterol down to a decent level?
Do I still need to watch my diet, or does Sortis give me a little wiggle room?
My doctor says there's zero chance of fixing my cholesterol just with diet because I'll be starving all the time,
but even then, nothing changes with the fats?!
With Sortis, am I okay to indulge once in a while, like grabbing some BBQ or something?
Hey everyone, just got back from seeing my cardiologist, and here’s the verdict:

Presolol 100 mg (half pill, twice a day)
Monopril 10 mg
Aspirin 100mg
Sortis 10 mg

My blood pressure was absolutely wrecking me, sitting at 180/110. Bloodwork came back like this:
Cholesterol 5.6
Triglycerides 4.91
HDL 0.90
LDL 3.54
Blood sugar 6.2

The doctor told me if I actually want to look out for myself, I need to stay on this stuff for life.
Wait, even the Sortis is forever?!
Is it safe to take Sortis long-term, and is there any truth to it messing with your liver?

I'm 45, and both my parents had major heart issues (my mom dealt with angina pectoris).
Sadly, they both passed away from strokes—mom was 81 and dad was 74.
I'm not even overweight, standing at about 182 cm and 185 lbs!
