Can someone please help me make sense of this biopsy report? I've been struggling with this really uncomfortable itching on my legs for three months now. My dermatologist suspected Lichen Planus, so she did a skin biopsy. I just got the results back today, and I’m hoping someone can explain what this actually means:
A 0.3cm skin sample was analyzed. Histologically, there is hyperkeratotic and orthokeratotic epidermis on the surface, while sparse lymphocytic infiltrates are found peripapillary in the papillary dermis. The histological finding is non-specific, and Lichen Planus cannot be confirmed. Dr. Harvey, I still owe you those reports regarding my friend's issues with brain function and aphasia, but I should have them later this week and will follow up with the exact diagnosis!
