Dealing with chronic pain without insurance
in Health ·
Good morning. Well, it finally happened. The day I was dreading is officially here. I am currently without any health insurance because I completely missed the enrollment deadline. Look, I know, I know—I’m being totally irresponsible. But honestly, I’ve never been one to get sick. Maybe a little sniffle once a year, and that’s about it. That’s my life.
Anyway, the day before yesterday, I was just absolutely wracked with pain. My period was ten days late—and when it hits, it hits hard, every single time—so I popped some Advil and Aleve.
Yesterday was even worse. I felt nauseous all day long. Headaches, body aches, total exhaustion, digestive issues (diarrhea), dizziness... plus, my blood pressure tends to run low. By the evening, things finally started to settle down a bit.
But then, this morning, I woke up ready to head to work, and the second I stood up—boom. Intense pain in my lower back and lower abdomen right around the belly button. If I stay lying down and don't move, I feel okay, but the moment I stand up, the pain kicks in and I feel like I'm going to throw up.
So, what do you guys think? Is this just some nasty stomach flu? Every time I try to look stuff up online, I just end up spiraling because everything points toward something terrifying, like ectopic pregnancy symptoms...
Thanks in advance.
