Hey everyone!
So, I had nose surgery back in August last year at a private clinic over in Arcadia.
I'm actually pretty happy with how things turned out, especially with my profile. But honestly? My nostrils are still way too wide, and it’s driving me crazy. I wanted to get your take—should I go through with a procedure to narrow them down?
The doctor mentioned he'd do it for free, like, it's already bundled into the initial price.
My only hesitation is that they have to make these tiny incisions, which leaves little scars... but man, I really feel like they're too big. They look like literal holes!
I’d really appreciate some honest opinions and comments. What do you guys think of my nose, and would you personally go for that kind of follow-up work?

It’s been over two months since my surgery, and honestly, the tip of my nose still feels kind of numb. Like, after a workout—say, after running for about half an hour—I get all flushed, but the tip stays this weird, throbbing sensation, almost like there's zero circulation going on in that specific spot. Since they focused most of the work right on the tip itself, I was wondering if that’s why... does anyone know how many months it usually takes for that feeling to finally go away?

Honestly, I feel the exact same way—most of the work was concentrated right on the tip of my nose. And let me tell you, that numbness lasted forever... seriously, it stuck around until just recently. It wasn't until seven months after the surgery that I could finally say I actually felt my entire nose and the tip properly. 😁
I was honestly pretty terrified at first, too. My nose felt totally numb and wooden, like it didn't even belong to my face anymore—just super weird and unnatural. But honestly? Everything settled down and feels fine now, so I don't think you need to stress about it too much.

I actually went to the Arcadia clinic in San Diego and saw Dr. Bojan Ignatovski.
Most doctors will tell you that getting back to 100% takes about 6 to 12 months.
That whole timeline includes things like the nose slimming down and all that swelling finally going away, etc. 🙂
Adam Johnson said:Hey, so why did they break your nose?
Man, my back is just absolutely trashed... honestly, it feels like there’s this weird little bump sticking out now, too. It’s super distracting. It doesn't even feel like bone, it just feels like some random lump of meat or something. Just total chaos down there.🙄
It’s been about a month and a half since my surgery went down... and honestly, I'm just crossing my fingers that this hump finally disappears. At least that's what the doctor told me would happen.
They didn't even bother doing any kind of indentation for me either...

I don't think they were actually breaking it. It sounds more like they just slice off that little part of the nose—you know, the bridge—with a scalpel, and then they just reset the bone afterward. 🙂
wearynomad88 said:It’s been 6 months since my surgery, so I'm wondering how much more my nose might change over the next 6 months...

Man, my nose changed so much during those first 6 months, but now that I'm at month 7, I can honestly say this past single month has seen more changes than all the previous 6 months combined—and trust me, it’s definitely for the better.😁
Maria Fox6 said:Hey, so my husband and I just headed out to Washington, D.C. for some consultations, and honestly, we’re still debating if it’s a bit pricey. If you don't mind me asking, how much did he charge you? And more importantly, what’s your take on the doctor himself? Are you actually happy with his work? I'm only asking because we found him online and don't really know anyone who has gone through surgery with him—but man, your nose looks seriously amazing.🙂

So, I actually went ahead and paid for the full package—you know, the one that includes the inspection and all those deep-dive searches they do. It was like 10 bucks. $167Honestly, their rates are way more reasonable than what you'd see at other clinics around here. Plus, I’ve gotta say, I really dig how professional they are. They actually know what they're doing. 🙂
Bryan Gomez27 said:Sue, how long did you deal with swelling after the procedure? Like, when could you actually start hanging out in public again?

Man, my surgery was actually one of the tougher ones because they weren't just shaving down the bone—they had to break it too—so I ended up with some pretty massive bruising... After about 14 days, I finally got the cast off and honestly, the bruising was barely even noticeable by then. Basically, give it about 2-3 weeks and you should be good to go outside, though it really depends on the person. For instance, this girl who was in the OR with me didn't have much bruising at all; hers cleared up in just 8 days. But personally, I think 3 weeks is the max. The swelling usually goes down about a week after the cast comes off, but the full recovery process takes anywhere from 6 months to a whole year. It’s been 7 months since my surgery and I’m only just now seeing what my nose actually looks like, plus my doctor mentioned it might still settle and look a bit flatter as time goes on.😁
Thanks for all the comments, honestly hoping for more. I feel like they stick out a bit too much from the front of my nose, but I doubt shrinking the bridge would even fix it. Like *Adam Johnson* mentioned, it's not really about the size, it's just that they're positioned way too far forward because of how the nostrils are shaped. How does my nose look to everyone else? Is it super noticeable to you guys?
He couldn't do it all in one go because he’d have to cut from the inside (to fix the nasal bone alignment) AND from the outside (to shrink the nostrils). They don't do that because there's a real risk of cutting off blood flow, which could cause the nose to turn dark. That's why you have to wait at least three months after the surgery, and honestly, I just can't make up my mind. Has anyone actually gone through this? Can you see the scars, and what does the end result actually look like?
