wanderingangler8 said:I can breathe, but not entirely. It feels like it’s still blocked up somewhere.
The tip of my nose is swollen too... definitely.
Did one of your stitches fall out?

Honestly, I don't see either of them... I have no idea.. 😢 how about you? My breathing through my nose is fine. But there's this scab in one nostril that's driving me absolutely insane. I just want to RIP IT OUT!!!🙂
wanderingangler8 said:Fine, I'll weigh in too. It's been a month since my surgery...

Everything seems okay for now. No lumps have popped up on my end yet. I still can't breathe through my nose properly... maybe occasionally, but it feels like it's still blocked...🙂, and none of the stitches have fallen out yet...

My skin is getting incredibly oily. These breakouts around my nose just won't quit. I clean it constantly, but it doesn't help much. I guess it just needs time to settle down..

Btw, did you guys see the red carpet this past Sunday? That pageant queen who had her nose done..
The news reported they removed the molds and tampons after five days.. she had zero bruising, no swelling, not even a drop of blood anywhere.. honestly..🙄
It annoyed me a bit. My nose is still clearly swollen, and I won't even mention how I looked five days out..

hahahahahahah yeah, I saw it. There is NO way that was five days later. NO WAY. I bet they filmed that much later; it's impossible. How can you not be breathing normally? 😢 As soon as my tampons were out, I could breathe fine 🙂 My tip is still swollen 😢it's awful!!!
Kimberly Rogers2 said:I can't believe this! It’s been three months since my surgery, and I never dealt with acne before, but now? It's disgusting. Just... gross. I have no clue why this is even happening! 😕 It just happened out of nowhere.

Yeah, it's honestly awful. I've been using that Vichy Normaderm cleanser twice a week, and they're slowly clearing up. 🙂🙂🙂 I still have a few spots here and there, though I used to have a massive amount 😠, mostly around my nose and cheeks... but it's getting better, I guess. 🙂
Jamie Mitchell13 said:Help me out, ladies... I’ve got this bump appearing right at the bridge of my nose. It’s only been three days since my surgery. Did any of you deal with this? Will it actually go away? I'm honestly pretty terrified. Maybe I should just call my surgeon to see if it's just swelling, though the whole nose is still incredibly swollen. But I can definitely feel that little lump when I touch it.----😢

It’s been three and a half weeks for me, and thank God, nothing like that has popped up yet... I really hope it stays that way. But man, I’ve become such a mess. My skin is all flaky and gross—it's awful. I never had acne issues before this, and now my nose feels tight and uncomfortable... but I guess it'll pass eventually.🙂
slymoose95 said:Didn't they give you anything for the pain? I guess you'll feel better once they pull those tampons out, at least that's what I've heard from others... I have surgery this Friday and I'm honestly freaking out. 😢 Maybe things will improve once the tampons are gone... Are you feeling very swollen?

Personally, I didn't feel anything, but my friend had a killer headache!!! But as soon as she got those tampons out, the pain was just gone..
wiredcrane12;20368380 said:Hey ladies, how’s everyone doing?
I've been trying facial massage, though I'm a little nervous about it. When exactly is lymphatic drainage recommended? Is it done with some kind of device or just by hand? I'm honestly worried my aesthetician might mess it up.

Well, my doctor hasn't mentioned anything about massages yet. He said when I go back for my follow-up in a month, we can discuss potentially adding them to the plan... 🙂
wanderingangler8 said:It's a decent idea...
except maybe very few people actually have a profile picture before their surgery... or maybe I'm just wrong about that...😍

Hehe, true. True. I don't have a profile picture either.😍
Laura Booth6 said:Why wouldn't you just go for the full dose? You sleep through it. Local anesthesia is just when you're awake but don't feel the pain...

God, I would never opt for local. It’s gotta be general anesthesia for me. Definitely... 🙂>
wanderingangler8 said:I can't even laugh normally anymore, and honestly, it’s killing me. I look like I don't even have teeth. 🤣
Everything feels tight. My muscles above my lip are even feeling sharp and cutting. How about you?

Man, that’s just awful. Thank God I didn't go through that... Honestly, whenever I try to smile, I look like I don't even have teeth. It's ridiculous. Everyone thinks it's some big joke now. 😢 I guess my teeth are starting to show a bit. 🙂 Finally. What day is it for you now?
wanderingangler8 said:Hey girls, how are you doing? It's been quiet in here..
Well, I'm feeling a lot better today. I actually applied foundation for the first time since my surgery 😍
The swelling has gone down a bit, though it's still noticeable.
I picked up some paraffin oil and I have to say, it really helps. It helped dissolve those scabs I still had.
I have a bachelorette party this Friday, so I'm hoping the results look even better by then.
But man, my skin is a disaster. It's so incredibly dry, I honestly don't know what to do...

Ugh, tell me about it. My skin is a total wreck... I'm constantly slathering on cream. It's so painfully dry, especially where the bruising is. Just awful. 😢 I'm doing okay, though I'm still swollen. It's day 6 now, so hopefully things improve soon. 🙂 Can you even laugh normally yet? I think I might finally be able to leave the house on Monday when I go in for my follow-up appointment 🙂 but until then, I'm basically hiding in the dark. 🙂
wiredcrane12 said:Well, I feel better now. So you think the area feels hard as a rock too. I was actually starting to worry something had gone wrong. I saw a specialist in Miami—I’m originally from there.
I take night walks by the ocean under the stars. We should probably walk together, like two Hannibals :-) I stopped using those compresses because I'm worried about sinus infections.
Looking at myself under one light, my nose looks nice. Honestly, I'm almost looking forward to seeing the final result, even though part of me is terrified of finally losing this profile I never truly felt was mine.
And Jesse Alvarez4, don't mess around... not if you aren't planning on being serious about this issue. We aren't doing this out of shame. It took a lot of courage and maturity to make this decision. swiftheron48, hang in there; let me know how things progress.

🙂🙂🙂 My teeth show a bit more today when I smile🙂 hehehe... and I look absolutely ridiculous, like Hannibal. 🙂 How are you doing today? For me, the bags under my eyes are sagging and my cheeks look super puffy right now. 🙂 Just some baby fat... they're so easy to squeeze. And my nose is still swollen. 😢 A little less than yesterday, though... I was out walking the dog late last night and saw a few people. But honestly, most people out at 1 AM aren't even sober, so they wouldn't even notice me if they did see me. 🙂
wiredcrane12 said:Hey everyone,

I had nose surgery last Friday, so it’s been three days now. I could really use some recovery advice.
The packing was removed yesterday, and they’re taking the splint off this Wednesday. My eyes are bruised purple and I’m swollen everywhere.
My main concern right now is that everything above my lip feels totally numb—I can't even crack a smile. They didn't do an external rhinoplasty; it was all internal work.
I'm using nasal drops and breathing through my nose. Any suggestions on what kind of cream to put on my eyes?
Should I be doing facial compresses, or maybe massage it? Will my smile eventually come back?
Can I step outside for a quick walk in nature? Just when nobody is around, obviously, because I think the fresh air might help.
Do I need to sleep propped up on two pillows?
Does anyone know anything about facial lymphatic drainage after surgery?

Thanks in advance. Any advice would be appreciated while I'm stuck in this limbo of waiting and uncertainty.

Hahaha... mine felt numb too. When I tried to smile, I looked like a total wreck.🙂 I had my surgery in April. I usually head out for some fresh air, but only very late at night when the streets are empty.🙂 My doctor didn't mention massaging it. I use compresses, but not too often. I haven't used any today. Who was your surgeon? Mine just took the packing out today. It was brutal.🙂 But at least I can breathe now. I'm also using nasal drops.🙂
Bryan Gomez27 said:Hey girls, I’m wondering if anyone on here had surgery where the surgeon didn't actually touch the tip of the nose? Like, the tip ended up looking exactly the same as before... not looking like a piglet or anything. I asked this before, but nobody really answered...

Well, they didn't touch my tip either. But honestly, everyone looks like a piglet for at least a few days while you're dealing with the molds and the packing 🙂 and all the swelling. My tip stayed the same as far as I can tell... and I know for sure they didn't touch it 🙂
Ashley Carter95 said:Other people can't even see it, just me... honestly, I'm only just realizing how swollen my nose actually was. No one else even noticed. Don't worry about anything or start panicking. It takes about 6 months for the nose to settle, and breathing usually doesn't feel 100% normal until the 9-month mark on average.

Well, okay then. 🙂 Thanks a lot. 🙂
Ashley Carter95 said:If your whole face is really swollen, maybe try some ice packs... just don't overdo it.

I know... My surgery was just last month, so everything is still relatively fresh. I mean, if my face and nose would just go down, I'd be fine. Right now, I look exactly like a piglet.🙂
Ashley Carter95 said:It’s been five months now. My nose is actually just starting to take shape; the bridge is narrowing and the tip is finally defining itself. Up until now, it honestly looked kind of potato-like.

Usually, those little bumps show up after two or three months. I noticed one at the bridge about a month ago, but it seems to be fading—the other side is starting to even out, so the bump isn't nearly as noticeable anymore. Honestly, you really have to wait the full six months to see what the final shape looks like. There's no point in panicking over anything because everything is constantly shifting.

So basically, everyone gets those bumps? 😢 Ugh... I don't get why they even have to happen in the first place. 😢 I can't believe recovery actually takes this long. But is it just visible to you? Or can others see it too? Man, I can't wait for these six months to be over. 🙂 hehe
Ashley Carter95 said:Your nose is going to stay swollen for another four and a half months. It’s not obvious at first, obviously. As time goes on and the swelling gradually subsides, you'll finally realize just how much swelling there actually was. Usually, the tip of the nose is the most swollen part.

For those scabs forming inside the nose, paraffin oil drops work well. They won't do any harm; they're used to soften everything up so the scabs can fall out naturally.

Oh, really?? Good grief... and how long were you swollen for? Just so I know about the nasal strips, but right now my entire face is swollen.. I guess I'll go ahead and buy those drops. 😍 😍thx
wanderingangler8 said:It's honestly bizarre how nobody even realizes I had nose surgery. When I was reading through other people's recovery stories, I couldn't quite wrap my head around them saying that no one could tell they'd had work done either.
Did they rub some kind of ointment on your nose?

Nope. They didn't put any ointment on the outside, just inside...
wanderingangler8 said:Today marks day ten for me. Honestly, I don't even know what's left to deal with. My head still feels heavy, though maybe not quite as much as those first few days. My nose is still swollen, too. I just feel completely wiped out. I'm counting down the minutes until this is all over.🙄

Ugh. And here I was hoping everything would have flattened out after ten days.😢 Instead, I'm just feeling totally drained. I suppose I can only hope things get a little easier every single day. By the way, did people at work realize you had nose surgery? Or did they just ask what happened?
🙂😍
wanderingangler8 said:I’ve actually checked online a few times just to see if you’d managed to get the mold out and to hear how it went...
Honestly, it's going to be a disaster. It was my first day back at work today and everyone keeps asking what happened to me.😍
I'm still swollen, too, even though I had to go in.🙄

Ugh, 😢 how many days has it been for you now? This whole thing with the tampons is brutal—it’s not even about the pain, it’s just that incredibly weird sensation. When it started coming out, I thought it would never end. It feels HORRIBLY long 🙂 at least, that's how it seems to me. And where else are you swollen? My whole head feels swollen.😍
