Now I’m so freaking anxious that I feel like I might pass out... the one thing that’s terrifying me—well, it was terrifying me—is the idea of being awake to see what they're doing and feeling it. Not even the pain, because that would be too much, but just that weird, uncomfortable sensation of them "fixing" you... 😱😱 🙂

Honey, please, just take a deep breath and calm down. You're only making your own life harder by spiraling like this. You don't feel a thing. When they were taking my molds, Dr. Rajko Tončić even asked if I felt anything, and I told him I couldn't even tell because they had me so "comfortably sedated." If you're going to be this worked up over needles, maybe you shouldn't even go through with the surgery. Do it for your own peace of mind. Just look at this as a normal part of life. Get it done, just like any other annoying errand you have to run. And once it's over, you'll be happy with the results for the rest of your life.

Anyway, I have a few silly questions.. 🤣

For those of you who've already gone through it or are getting ready for surgery, what did you wear there? What were you wearing when they actually operated on you? Any ideas on what I should bring?

Do I need to pack anything specific? Or will they just provide everything? My nurse didn't really mention much about it... 🤷

Hmm, you mean clothes? I just showed up in some basic pants and a T-shirt under a button-down—mostly so it’d be easy to strip off and put back on later. They give you one of those green hospital gowns and some slippers, and you just stash all your personal stuff in a locker in your room. That's pretty much it. 😉
slymoose95 said:It feels like they hike the prices every single time I look... I had my surgery back when I was five months along, and when I called around to a few different clinics then, the lowest price I could find was $11k.$167

Honestly, it just depends on which clinic you go to. Like, over at Rajko Tončić's place, it’s always a flat $10,000, no matter what kind of work you're having done on your nose.😉
As far as the anesthesia goes, there’s really nothing to worry about. You won't hear a thing, see anything, or heaven forbid, feel any of it. They don't even use general anesthesia because waking up from it is such a drag, plus he says you bleed more under general... 🙂 Personally, I woke up in the recovery room once everything was already wrapped up, and honestly, I didn't even realize how I got there. And there were zero side effects from the meds. I know some people have felt super nauseous after general anesthesia or stayed groggy for way too long...
Laura Booth6 said:😢 😢 oh man, that sounds awful! I can only imagine how you feel right now! 😢

Seriously, post a photo, I really want to see... I was actually there yesterday myself. I booked for 6:00 and didn't even get in line until 6:45 😠 we were just sitting there like idiots in the waiting room, only to finally go inside and deal with the younger Tončić. Honestly, I thought I was gonna pass out (was it Dinko, I think?). Because the clinic was so packed, he couldn't even listen to me properly. He just showed me some before-and-after nose photos—probably taken like ten years ago 🙄... he was poking around and checking things while I tried to explain what my actual issue was... and he just kept going, "welllll... maybeee... it cooould be fixed..." Just like that. COULD. Not "it can," but "MMMMMOOOOOOOGGGGHHHHHTTTT." Like he was high or something! Then he just stares out the window for a full minute of silence! For everything, he just said, "yeahhh, could happen"... until I finally snapped and asked if it *can* be done or not. And instead of saying "well, maybe," he just goes, "yeah, yeah..." then it turns out his old man was scheduled for surgery too (huge weight off my shoulders, honestly 🤣), and he mentioned they don't use general anesthesia here, just local with heavy sedation... ugh, that totally freaked me out! We set the surgery for next Thursday morning at 9:00. My mom wanted to drop a deposit immediately, but I told her no, let's wait, because I might still change my mind about the doctor... It's easy enough to just wire the money and fax the receipt later... I don't know what to do now... 😠 😢

And what's the deal with him "examining" me and having some doctor give advice who isn't even performing the surgery?!

Need advice fast, especially from anyone who’s actually had the procedure there!

I've been there, and like I said before, everything went perfectly! Not to repeat myself, but check the old posts. If I can tell you one thing, don't sweat it. The younger guy relies on looks alone. 🤣 The older one is the one who actually gets the credit for the results. 👍
slymoose95 said:If you hit up a public hospital, I'm pretty sure it's either free or just some tiny co-pay, but if you go private, the cheapest they'll charge you is around $85 bucks!!!

Maybe even $80. 😉
Ooo Amy, honestly, your nose doesn't even look that bad to me. And I’m not just saying that to be nice, I really mean it... But if you're dead set on doing it, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Actually, I don't even need to cross them because everything is gonna turn out great. Let me know how the consultation goes.
Don't even worry about it, I'm just glad I can help out. 😬
Honestly, they said nothing should really show once I take the mold off. My eyes aren't puffy and my face doesn't look swollen at all... maybe my nose a little, but I can't tell through everything else. I doubt it'll be obvious enough for anyone who isn't already looking for it. I did mine right before summer started so I could have time to "recover" before heading back to college, but I think you'll feel like a brand new person in a week or two. Just a little makeup if there's a tiny spot and you're good to go. 😍
casualgardener said:I think so. Honestly, everything I've heard about him has been amazing. But then I read these forums and everyone has some kind of complaint. People are talking about lumps, or being unhappy with the results. I don't know if he's actually a huge risk or if people are just being petty and way too picky? Oh well, I'm heading to my consultation so I'll decide...
Are you getting surgery under general or local anesthesia?

Look, for every doctor out there, someone is going to have something nasty to say. And then that one single comment can totally sway the opinion of the whole crowd. Isn't that just how it works in every job? Like, I can tell you Hoyka took incredible photos of me, but then suddenly you're looking at them thinking they aren't great. (Oh, what an example... 🤣 Obviously, it's not the same situation, but still...)
Hmm, regarding those bumps and stuff... anything is possible, so yeah, that could happen. But if we start thinking like that, where does it end? No one can guarantee exactly how your body is going to react. But the fact is, there are tons of people who overreact—like, they go back for a second or third surgery because they aren't happy for whatever reason. Most of those reasons are super trivial. As for lumps (if they even show up), from what I've heard, they fade away as the healing progresses... basically, the nose "settles in." That process takes forever, so there's no need to panic if you notice something after three weeks. And if it doesn't go away after a long time, oh my God, you just go back for another consultation and figure out the next steps...
What I'm trying to say is that you need to judge for yourself whether you trust whichever doctor you choose. Regardless of what anyone else suggests...

As for the anesthesia, they do it under local with sedation. I'm no expert or anything. But don't let that word "local" scare you. You show up, you lie down, and you go to sleeeeeeeep. 🙂 You won't feel a thing! I literally woke up already in the hospital bed, and honestly, I have no clue how or when I even got there. So don't be afraid that you'll see something or, heaven forbid, feel something.
casualgardener said:Aha, nice. Glad to hear you healed up properly. But what about after those 10-15 days? Is everything still swollen? I really don't want to show up to campus looking like I have a potato for a nose😢!
I'm honestly terrified of the risks. Even though I can afford it, I keep second-guessing myself because I don't want anything going wrong. I have no clue who to actually trust for real advice. I'm heading to see Dr. Tony in about 10 days, but I'm not sure if he's actually the right guy or if he just wants my money... well, I hope you get where I'm coming from... 😢

Hey, I totally get why you're scared. No one feels 100% chill before deciding on something like this. Look, I just had my surgery with Dr. Tony, and I'm getting my splint removed this Thursday. So far, everything has been perfect. Zero pain, no swelling at all. Honestly, the first three days were a total drag because you can't breathe through your nose, but you get used to it. It actually felt weird being able to breathe through my nose again once they took the packing out, since I was so used to not being able to... 😂
As for whether Dr. Tony is legit—I'm not trying to give you a sales pitch, but seriously, don't even sweat it. They know their stuff. My family doctor is actually friends with him, so I got some firsthand info, and he said he’s a full ENT specialist, not just an aesthetic surgeon, so he truly knows what he's doing. Even though I haven't seen the final result yet, I have zero doubts it's gonna be amazing! 😍
Just stay brave!
Hey there!

So, I finally worked up the nerve... I'm heading in for my big first consultation next week. I'd love to hear from anyone who's already gone through the surgery—how long did you actually end up waiting? Like, roughly how much time passed between that initial appointment and the actual procedure itself?
Has anyone here actually dealt with that doctor before?
His "research" 🤣 seems alright to me, he doesn't seem to be pulling those shady stunts I've seen from others in the field...
