Rhinoplasty: Experiences and recovery tips?

So, I’ve got to go under the knife for a septoplasty for health reasons, and my doctor mentioned he could just knock out a rhinoplasty at the same time. My nose has been a little crooked for ages—ever since an old injury.
I'm trying to wrap my head around how long the recovery actually takes for both. My doctor told me everything should settle down in about 10 days, but then I started falling down an internet rabbit hole where people say swelling from a rhinoplasty can stick around for up to a year...
Anyone here gone through this? Any experiences to share?
