^^ No worries at all! 🙂 Honestly, those glasses were my biggest headache. I didn't just dive right in; I started wearing them super gradually after about three months, just doing maybe 20 minutes to an hour a day. I usually stuck to wearing them right before bed because they’d give me this swelling, but luckily it would chill out by morning. In the meantime, contact lenses were a total lifesaver for me. As for sunglasses, I didn't even touch those until about six months post-op, and even then, it was just an hour or two a day.

Plus, from the doctor's perspective, they really recommend you avoid wearing glasses during that first year, unfortunately...

^ Taking the mold off doesn't hurt at all, honestly—everything that feels "painful" is mostly just in your head. So, I figured it was finally time to share my own experience. It’s been about a year since I had nose surgery—both for the aesthetics and to fix how it actually functions—with Dr. Glusca. Prim. Dr. Ljubis BastaicI honestly have nothing but praise and pure satisfaction to share. The initial phone consultation was incredibly smooth—super professional and fast. Then, two weeks later, I went in for my in-person appointment at the clinic, and once again, everything went perfectly. We were totally on the same page from the get-go.

So, I was dealing with this massive hump on my nose, and to make matters worse, my breathing was totally off because everything was shifted to the left side. It was honestly such a nightmare! Having my nose suddenly start acting up like that at 27 was just too much, so I finally decided it was time to get it fixed. When I sat down with the doctor, I made it super clear: I don't want any bumps, I want a look that’s completely natural, and I really need him to consider my entire facial structure. My biggest fear was looking like a different person, so I told him I wanted to look like "me" when facing the mirror after the surgery—basically, I just don't want the procedure to totally change who I am.

So, first things first—I spent about four months digging around for the right doctor, looking through options in Canada, Italy, and the US, obviously sticking to anyone with solid positive reviews. I actually just met a girl on this forum who ended up having her surgery with Dr. Bastaic.

It’s been a full year now, and only this past month has that tiny, micro-level swelling finally settled down completely. Honestly, I’m really happy with how everything looks aesthetically; my expectations were pretty high, but I kept them grounded in reality, which helped. Even my breathing feels so much better now. As for advice on picking a surgeon, I don't have much to say other than this: it is absolutely vital that you find someone you actually click with on a personal level.

I really hope my experience can help someone out here... If I manage to track down a decent before and after photo, I'll definitely post it.

Hey there, does anyone happen to know when it's actually safe to start wearing glasses again after surgery? They also give you the price upfront, and it's cash only—USD or whatever—and from what I saw, there's no wiggle room on the cost. At least not for me. If you have any other questions, just shout. hey hey 🙂 you answered all my questions so perfectly Laura Castillo7! thank youuuu so much!! 🙏 I'm gonna call them to set up a consultation and let them know when I'm aiming for the surgery, since I already have a timeframe in mind—somewhere around late September or early October. I've been sitting on this idea for ages and finally worked up the nerve to do it. I'm coming in from a different state, so I think I'll probably stay until the packing is removed. I'd love to fly home sooner, but if staying is the better move, I'll suck it up. My case is supposedly a bit tricky because I have a bump, and the bridge slopes slightly to the right. The tip is kind of drooping, too. I might even have some breathing issues, honestly, I'm not sure. But at least my nose isn't huge. Otherwise, it's hideous! 🤣 I'm sure the price will be a bit complicated, LOL. I hope not though. Do you happen to know what the typical price range is for these kinds of procedures??

When do you think I should head in for that first appointment? Also, since I’m not from the local area, would I need to stay near the clinic, and if so, for how many days? First off, please bear with my messy English, but I really hope you guys can follow what I'm saying. After agonizing over it for forever, I've finally decided to go through with rhinoplasty. I'm 27, and honestly, my nose is just plain ugly! It’s got this bump, it curves slightly to the right near the bridge, and the tip is kind of droopy. I'm actually from a small town nearby, and in my experience, we just don't have any top-tier cosmetic surgeons around here. There used to be one absolute legend who did my sister's nose job about 12 years ago, but he's retired now. 😢

So, I wanted to pick the brains of anyone who has seen Dr. Miller. His style and approach seem like the best fit for me. How are you all feeling about your new noses?? Please, please give me all the details! I'm trying to work up the courage to book my first consultation. Brrrr... chill factor is real.

^Oh, yeah, that surgeon is actually based out of the Midwest, so there’s really no debate about her skill—she did an incredible job fixing that nose. From what I’ve heard, the patient had some pretty nasty scarring on the side, and apparently, she’d already gone under the knife twice back home before finding her.
