Hannah Long82, I'm actually looking into this doctor too. She replied to my email about some pretty general stuff, but I definitely want to dig deeper before I schedule a consultation. Do you have a moment to swap details via PM?
Hey Matthew Turner4!
Seriously, why the sudden outburst?? You seem so happy! Usually, people who are actually content don't get this worked up over nothing.
Why are you trying to shut down other people here just because they have a critical eye or their own take on things?
Since when did it become okay to insult us for having an opinion?
Are we all suddenly "bitter competitors" just because we're skeptical of these over-the-top, glowing reviews?
Should we just stay quiet and pretend everything is fine when we realize a surgeon is taking credit for someone else's work?
Are you aware that intellectual property is a massive deal? In the USA, claiming someone else's work is a serious offense that carries real consequences.
In your book, is stealing credit for another surgeon's procedures considered professional or ethical behavior?
We aren't just mindless followers here blindly accepting everything as gospel. We actually use our heads, and more importantly, we leverage the internet to do our homework before committing to something as sensitive as Rhinoplasty. We definitely put a lot of thought into choosing a surgeon. stormyharbor2 did a fantastic job showing how some surgeons might be underestimating us. Honestly, it makes me wonder who was actually copying whom—Amer Glusca or Glusca Amer? 🙂 What really trips me up is how Glusca’s "patients" constantly insist on certain facts that, if you take a quick second to Google them, you'll see are contradicted by almost every other reputable medical site out there.
Who actually decided that closed techniques are superior to open ones? In the US, the open approach is the standard for rhinoplasty, and most surgeons lean toward it for good reason. The results can be incredible. It gives the surgeon a much clearer view of the entire structure, which means way more precision during the procedure. Plus, you don't end up with a visible scar under the nose because the healing is just seamless. Personally, I went with the open technique and my results are fantastic. I dealt with some swelling for about ten days, and by the two-week mark, I looked totally normal even without any makeup. On the flip side, I have a friend who opted for the closed method; she was way more swollen than I ever was, and honestly, she isn't even happy with how it turned out—she’s already looking into getting a revision. So, if someone is trying to tell you that a closed technique is the absolute best way to go, they might not be as informed or experienced as they claim. Seriously, just do a little digging online and see for yourself.

Thanks for the heads-up! I just had my consultation and Dr. Gulić was absolutely wonderful—super thorough and really took the time to walk me through everything. Unfortunately, they’ll have to break my nasal bones, 😢 so I’m a little nervous about a second procedure, but I've definitely made my decision.
I'm actually aiming for surgery in July, too.
Did you run into any issues or discomfort because of the heat?

Best regards,

I didn't have any major issues with the heat, which is lucky since I usually can't stand it. The doctor did warn me that the swelling might last a bit longer because of the high temperatures, and mentioned things would likely settle down much faster once winter hits. That said, my recovery was pretty quick regardless of the summer weather. I spent most of my time in air conditioning and followed the doctor's orders to a T—basically staying out of the sun entirely. As soon as I stepped outside, I’d pop on a wide-brimmed hat and slather on SPF 50. I even went to Miami in August and hit the beach, but always kept the hat and sunscreen on. Honestly, the whole recovery process was pretty smooth for me. They removed the cast a week after surgery, and that first week was when I dealt with the most swelling. About ten days in, I was basically back to my normal routine. I think my final results really started showing at the three-month mark, though my doctor says it takes closer to six months to see the full effect. Either way, I am obsessed with my nose now and hope it stays this way forever. 🙂
Don't let the fear get to you; you're going to be so happy with the results. The main thing is to be super clear with your doctor about what you want and what your expectations are. I talked her ear off so much that I think she was actually relieved when I finally finished! 😁

I had septoplasty about two years ago at the Mayo Clinic with Dr. Shubarić, but things didn't go quite right. 😠 I’m still struggling to breathe properly, so I have to go back under the knife. 😢

I was wondering if anyone here has seen Dr. Rozita Gulic?
The Gulic clinic in Washington, D.C.

Hi!
I actually went in for rhinoplasty (for aesthetics) with Dr. Rozita Gulic at her clinic this past July. It was great! It’s been about four months now, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how my nose looks. I spent forever overthinking whether to even do this or who to trust, but everything turned out so well that my only regret is not doing it sooner. My nose isn't broken or anything; it’s just shorter, slightly lifted, and the bump is gone. I was really worried about ending up with a tiny, bulbous, "fake-looking" nose—I definitely made sure to mention that to her. She listened to me and gave me such a beautiful, natural result. It looks very refined, and I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Everyone around me has been so positive; my family and boyfriend are huge fans. My friends notice I look better, though they don't necessarily point out the surgery—they just give me more compliments on my overall look. As for the doctor, it feels like I made the right call. She was totally dedicated and really thorough with everything.
Maybe try booking a consultation first to see what she thinks.

I have two quick questions...

Has anyone here actually been there for a checkup or maybe even surgery? What was your experience like?

Second, I have a pretty specific question for the surgeon—basically a diagnosis with all the details of what and how. I’m just looking for an experienced pro who can give me a straight answer on "can this be done or not," and eventually, "what's the price tag?"

The thing is, how am I supposed to ask Dr. Glumicic that question when he doesn't respond to the email listed on his website AT ALL?! Should I call and ask to be put through to him? Or do I have to book an appointment, pay for a full consultation, and then walk out of the office after one minute with my answer?
Honestly, I don't get how I can get a response from the IRS about customs fees for some random junk from eBay, but getting a word from a prestigious private clinic is impossible...

Hi!

I had rhinoplasty (cosmetic surgery) at the Gulic Clinic. Dr. Gulic performed the surgery and I am super happy with the results. 🙂 It's only been about a month since the procedure, and while the doctor says we need a few more months to see the final result, my nose already looks completely normal and I absolutely love it. She was wonderful, too—really kind and professional right from that very first consultation. I was worried I might have overwhelmed her with all my endless questions and anxieties about wanting one thing over another, but she was so patient and really took the time to listen and examine me.
As for the clinic itself—it might not be the main point, but I have to say I was quite impressed. It's organized and has world-class equipment. I actually stayed overnight there, and it was such a treat. You should see the bathroom!🙂
It was totally worth it!
