Insect bites all over my body – any advice?

I know someone who dealt with a very similar situation. After doing a ton of digging, it turned out there were these tiny little critters—almost like microscopic mites—living in the sawdust from some old lumber stored in their backyard shed. They’re basically invisible to the naked eye, but they can trigger an allergic reaction that feels just like a series of stings. In their case, the reaction would kick in anywhere from thirty minutes to a couple of hours after exposure. It’s entirely possible you were exposed to whatever allergen it was sometime before last night... Apparently, this stuff can even show up in old grain or damp basements, though it doesn't necessarily cause itching. At this point, the only real way to handle it is to take an antihistamine to dull the reaction, apply some liquid makeup containing a local anesthetic, and just wait for it to pass.
