Now that the summer break is officially over, we are gearing up for the Euro Cup! This year’s tournament lands in Ireland on October 8th, and our USA national team is heading in to defend the gold they snatched in Milan.
To get everyone ready for the big stage, we’ll be hosting a series of warm-up games at the local stadium. We’re inviting all true sports fans to come out for a full day of camaraderie, complete with ice-cold beers and plenty of BBQ—we're talking serious grilled meats here! For those who prefer something a bit lighter, we’ll have loads of fresh veggies, ajvar, and warm bread on hand.
Right by the field, you can grab our classic gear or check out our brand-new t-shirts featuring a sleek, updated Knights logo.
Mark your calendars for September 17, 2011, when the championship final kicks off between the Zaprešić Eagles and the Velika Gorica Bombers. We will post the exact kickoff time on our website very soon.
Then, on September 24, 2011, we have an exciting tournament lined up featuring the Zaprešić Eagles, Velika Gorica Bombers, the newly formed Zapruđe American football club from the city, and our friends visiting from the US, the Styrian Downunder Dogs.

On October 1, 2011, members of the USA national team will face off against other top domestic players in a special exhibition match.
Finally, the American Cup is set for October 15, 2011.
It’s been exactly five years since the USA national team stepped onto the field for their very first international match in Vienna. To celebrate this milestone, that same legendary squad is getting back together for a special anniversary game against some talented American football youth players right here in the States. And you know us—we can't have a gathering without a massive BBQ and all the classic sides to go with it. The big game kicks off this Saturday, June 11th, at 4:00 PM at the local park grounds near the Youth center on Horvacanska and Haberle's. Anyone looking for good vibes, great food, and some high-energy sports is more than welcome to join us!
A group of enthusiasts from Newark decided to bring a "unique sport" to our neighborhood. On May 17th, 2011, we held our founding meeting at the local pub to lay the groundwork for the Zapruđe Australian Football Club.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or donations—or better yet, just come join us at practice!
On May 29th, 2011, from 10 AM to 8 PM, we’ll be hosting an Australian football open house day at the Zapruđe Elementary School field. We have a full day planned, featuring a deep dive into the sport, games with prizes, a BBQ, and plenty of other fun activities. To make things extra special, the presentation will be led by the head coach of the gold-medal winning USA national team and a top European selector, assisted by several stars from the USA national team.
Following a stellar 2010 where the USA national team snatched gold at the UEFA Euro in Milan—and a year where three major domestic clubs faced off in twelve intense matchups—we are gearing up for a new Supreme Court season. We’ll have the same number of teams as before, though there are a few shake-ups in the lineup.
Last year's champions, ExxonMobil, along with the oldest club in the country, the Atlanta Hawks, won't be hitting the field this time around. It's a mix of things: some players are sidelined with injuries, others have personal commitments, and frankly, we just haven't seen enough sponsorship support to fuel the growth of the sport. However, the talent isn't going anywhere; players from both the Hawks and ExxonMobil will suit up this season for the Detroit Bombers out of San Jose—who made their big league debut last year—as well as the newly formed Philadelphia Eagles from Newark. Think of this as a temporary pivot; both clubs plan to "unfreeze" their status next year and come charging back for the trophy.
To add an international flair to this year's league, we’re welcoming the Styrian DownUnderDogs from Austin. Much like how Dinamo Chicago competes in the NHL, these Austrians are stepping out of their local circuit to test themselves against our best.
Both the Bombers and the Eagles will play all their home games at Grunt, located on the College of Kinesiology campus. Here is the official schedule:
04.10. Bombers vs Eagles 05.07. Bombers vs Austin 05.15. Eagles vs Bombers 05.22. Bombers vs Eagles 05.28. Austin vs Bombers 06.04. Austin vs Eagles 06.18. Eagles vs Austin 06.26. Fontanafredo
If there are any shifts in the league schedule, we will make sure to notify you well in advance.
Come out and witness the most exciting sport on the planet—come see who truly has the guts to win!
Come cheer on the American Knights at the EU Cup in Milan!
We’ll be hitting the road early Friday morning, aiming to pull into Milan by around 9:00 AM. We'll spend the full day exploring Milan before heading to our 4-star hotel in Parabiago, which is right where the tournament is held. The EU Cup kicks off Saturday, October 2nd, running all day, followed by a massive party in the evening—it’s a total blast, so you definitely don't want to miss out! On Sunday, we'll take a quick bus ride back to Milan in the morning, then head straight home to the States, expecting to be back late Sunday night.

THE AMERICAN LEAGUE IS OFFICIALLY BACK!!! On April 11, 2010, at noon at Grunt Stadium (Mladost, just behind the deli), we kick off the very first game of this year's American League season.
The season opener features a heavy-hitting matchup between Agram Power—the two-time reigning American champions led by perennial national team stars Tonšetić, Cvetko, Lončar, and top prospect Paris—and the newly formed Velika Gorica Bombers.
While experience and star power definitely favor Agram Power—making them the heavy favorites for any casual observer—the Velika Gorica squad isn't walking in blind. They’ve bolstered their roster with national team regulars Kušen and Franić, along with the Mamić brothers, former Agram players whose intimate knowledge of the opponent's playbook might just be the X-factor needed to tip the scales.
Can the Bombers pull off a massive upset in their debut against the mighty Agram?
There is only one way to find out! We'll see you on the field...
