I was told that sometimes, if things aren't quite perfect, you have to go back in for a second round—but I am absolutely not interested in another revision. Especially since they already cleaned me out financially. Like, seriously, a massive amount of money.
Anyone else dealing with this kind of nightmare?

TOTAL LIES!!!! 🤮
Your story hits way too close to home for me, and here is the cold, hard truth: you were just unlucky enough to be operated on by an incompetent surgeon who completely wrecked your nose.👎 Even if you paid full price for the surgery, I am truly, deeply sorry.
Things aren't going to get better. 😢 In fact, they’ll probably get worse over the next six months before they just flatline.

Almost every single issue you mentioned happened to me too—especially that awful smell and the cartilage being all displaced. The only real fix is a second surgery, performed by someone who actually knows what they're doing. ☕
Karen Ross84 said:Oh man, I am so sorry to hear that...
where did you have your first surgery?

At the Dubrava Medical Center, but honestly—the real issue was the doctor who messed things up for me 😠. I originally went in for an exam because of breathing issues—specifically a deviated septum—and it was this one doctor at a private clinic who examined me and then ended up performing the surgery.

But looking back, I guess I can't even blame anyone else—it’s my own fault for not doing my homework on the guy before signing anything. If I had actually looked him up, I would've found out pretty quickly that nobody recommends him, especially when it comes to nose surgery.
Karen Ross84 said:So, if you don't mind me asking... what exactly did they do to your nose? 🙂

Look, this was actually my second surgery. My first one—and I hate to say it—was handled by an incompetent surgeon who basically wrecked my entire nasal structure. They performed a septorhinoplasty back then... basically trying to fix a deviated septum while also attempting to reshape the bridge of my nose.

I've got a ton of questions weighing on me—it's about sinus surgery...

Dr. South - Saint Jude
Dr. Grgić at Mayo Clinic
Dr. Janjanin and Dr. Mladin

So, I actually had my surgery at the hospital two months ago with Dr. Janjanin.
All I can say is that the doctor and the entire ENT department were absolutely fantastic.
I would definitely give Dr. J. my vote...👍
Amanda Stewart58 said:I actually went to Rib for treatment under Dr. Smith—absolutely top-notch stuff!

Yeah, I'm with you there—Rib really is the gold standard. 😉

I was over at Rib about a month back myself, and honestly, the entire staff was just incredible... truly impressive work all around. 🙏

That being said, though—I still feel like surgeries at general hospitals should be strictly reserved for people who are actually struggling to breathe... we need to prioritize the real emergencies, right?
Carol Hernandez94 said:Just one quick question for anyone who’s already survived this whole recovery torture... did you guys use nasal drops? And if so, which ones actually worked?

The 1% ephedrine drops are actually pretty solid.
They really help bring down that mucosal swelling,
you can find them at any local pharmacy—though you'll probably need to show them your medical history since they're usually prescription-only.
Hey there 😉

I need some intel here:

Has anyone actually been treated by Jan, Bill (at the Mayo Clinic), or Baker (over at Mount Sinai)?

I’m looking into getting secondary rhinoplasty done and I really want to know if anyone has firsthand experience with any of these three. Honestly, I'm pretty terrified about going under the knife again—my last surgeon was a total :asshole: and completely trashed my nose... now I can barely even breathe through my nostrils 🙂
Hey there!
I had my rhinoplasty this past summer—back in July—with Dr. Rozita Gulic at her clinic, and honestly? I am beyond thrilled!! It’s been about four months since the surgery now, and my nose looks absolutely amazing. I spent forever agonizing over whether I should even do this, let alone which surgeon to trust, but everything turned out so perfectly that my only regret is that I didn't just pull the trigger sooner. In my case, they didn't have to fix any breaks; they just shortened it, lifted the tip, and smoothed out the bump. I was terrified of ending up with one of those tiny, upturned, "plastic-looking" noses—I made sure to harp on that point quite a bit during our consultations. She actually listened to me and gave me such a beautiful, natural result. It looks incredibly refined, and for the first time, I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Everyone around me has been so supportive—my family and my boyfriend are totally obsessed with the change. My friends give me compliments all the time, though they don't necessarily realize what happened... they just notice I look better. As far as the doctor goes, I definitely picked the right one. She was so dedicated to me; I really felt like she went above and beyond. She’s incredibly meticulous.
Just go in for a consultation and see what she says.

Mark Rodriguez12👍
Thanks so much for sharing that! I actually went in for a consultation already, and Dr. Gulić completely blew me away—she’s so thorough and really took the time to walk me through everything regarding my specific situation. Unfortunately, it looks like they'll have to break my nasal bones, 😢 which has me feeling a little nervous about going under again, but I've definitely made up my mind to go through with it.
I'm actually planning to have my surgery in July too,
so I wanted to ask—did you deal with any issues or discomfort because of the summer heat?
If anyone happens to wander in here who’s actually had nose surgery—I am dying for a fresh recommendation on where to go and which surgeon to trust... just keep in mind I can't do anything at Cedars-Sinai, so looking elsewhere.
anybody, please...

So, I ended up at KBD for my procedure, but unfortunately, I ended up with the wrong doctor—total disaster—but I did hear from the hospital staff that Dr. Ožegović is actually really good.
Hey there!
I had septoplasty done about two years ago at the Mayo Clinic under Dr. Shubarić—who, honestly, did a pretty lousy job😠—and I'm still struggling to breathe properly. Now I'm looking at having to go under the knife all over again. 😢

Has anyone here actually seen Dr. Rozita Gulic?
I'm looking at the Gulic clinic in Washington, D.C.
