There is nothing quite as debilitating as a sudden, aggressive bout of heartburn when you’re just trying to go about your day. It isn't merely a minor discomfort; it’s that searing, persistent heat rising from the chest that forces you to reconsider every dietary choice you've made over the last forty-eight hours. I remember sitting through a particularly long board meeting in Chicago last year—trying to maintain a professional composure while my esophagus felt like it was being scorched by molten lava—and realizing that no amount of willpower can override a physiological reaction to a bad meal. It’s a blunt reminder of how easily our physical state can hijack our focus, turning a productive afternoon into a desperate search for antacids. [User Name] says:
Hello, everyone.
I suppose I should weigh in on this discussion as well...🙂

For months now, I’ve been obsessively researching rhinoplasty—both for functional breathing issues and purely aesthetic reasons. I have spent countless hours scouring the internet, digging through medical forums, and deep-diving into the websites of local surgeons right here in my hometown.

Even while searching through various resources, I found myself quite impressed by the doctor's website. Duje Ostojić I just scheduled my checkup.$67).
So, I went in for an exam, and the doctor informed me that I’m dealing with a slight septal deviation along with some enlarged nasal turbinates—I can't quite recall the exact clinical terminology they used at the moment.
I actually consulted him regarding cosmetic surgery, and while he insisted my nose was already quite lovely, I couldn't ignore that small bump on the right side or the width of the bridge. I eventually made the decision to go through with a minor correction. During our discussion, I made it very clear that I had absolutely no intention of ending up looking like Miss Piggy; in response, he assured me that wouldn't happen. He promised he would simply smooth out the bump without making any drastic changes, ensuring the end result would be subtle yet perfectly refined.

I conducted all the necessary research myself before pulling the trigger, eventually scheduling the procedure for mid-January of this year. Looking back now, I can say with absolute certainty that I am beyond satisfied with the outcome.
Top-tier service matched only by the results themselves!🙂👍

Nosić hasn't actually changed that much; she’s just been heavily enhanced—let's put it that way, since I certainly didn't start out with much of a nose to begin with.
I underwent surgery under general anesthesia, and honestly, I didn't have any major issues with the process itself. The only thing I noticed was a brief moment of lightheadedness when I tried to stand up too quickly after waking up, but I never dealt with any nausea or vomiting or anything of that nature.
I have to admit, I was incredibly skeptical when he promised me that I wouldn't feel a single thing after the surgery. Honestly, I thought he was just being optimistic to calm my nerves. As it turns out, I was dead wrong. I underwent both functional and cosmetic procedures, and the recovery was remarkably smooth—it truly didn't hurt at all.
The only thing that caused even a hint of discomfort was removing my tampon on the fourth day after surgery, though honestly, that was over in a heartbeat.
My nose is still a little swollen, but the bruising has finally cleared up. In my experience, those marks usually hang around for about ten days, though they don't stay quite that intense the whole time.

I’ve put together a brief account of my own experience undergoing the surgery—perhaps I haven't gone into quite enough detail, but there is much to be said.

Why I advocate for Dr. Duje Ostojić.
I’ve consulted several surgeons before him, and frankly, most of them left a bitter taste in my mouth. I remember walking into the office of one prominent surgeon—someone you'd expect to be top-tier—only to have him yawn right in my face multiple times while he was examining me. He charged me a full consultation fee for what amounted to sixty seconds of his time. That’s just one instance of the lack of decorum I've encountered. I should probably mention that I tend toward perfectionism by nature, which makes me incredibly picky about who I trust with my health. Dr. Duje was the only one who actually treated me like a human being. He conducted a thorough examination and spoke with a calm, composed demeanor. He took the time to listen to every single one of my concerns and questions, and he didn't shy away from outlining all potential complications—even though, in my experience, those risks are minimal and he hasn't seemed to encounter any since moving into private practice. During our talk, I shared a few anecdotes regarding some of his peers, and his response was telling. He maintained that his priority is remaining professional with his patients; he refused to disparage his colleagues, noting it wouldn't be fair, yet he remained attentive to everything I had to say.
Helen is far too polite for her own good, but she’ll make an effort to address whatever questions you throw her way, whether that's over a phone call or in person.
Even before the surgery, he made it clear that I could call him at any hour—even in the middle of the night—if I felt anxious or had follow-up questions. That kind of accessibility isn't something you see every day. After the procedure, once I was back home, he actually reached out to check on me that first evening, and then again on the following two days just to monitor my recovery and see if the pain was manageable. It was a level of attentive, proactive care that truly impressed me. Respect where it's due. 🙂

Dr. Duje Ostojić! 👍 👍

If any further questions come to mind, don't hesitate to ask; I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Best, 😍

I’m genuinely glad you reached out. I actually underwent surgery with him myself—though not on my nose—and he left an equally stellar impression on me. It’s funny looking back at how skeptical I was during those initial consultations. 🤣
It really is a shame that we don't see many doctors of his caliber anymore.
He even followed up with me after my own procedure. For now, I'm just monitoring things, though I am still weighing my options for future work...😛
Donna Castillo7 said:I gave them a call and I'm heading over in a few days to pick up the receipt. The only thing is, my sister mentioned that at the IRS, receipts from Glumičić don't usually fly; apparently, as soon as they see an order from Glumičić, they immediately flag it as cosmetic.
Has anyone here actually used Glumičić or maybe gone to Ostojić? Did you manage to get any kind of tax refund?

In my view, the issue isn't with Glumičić or Ostojić as medical professionals, but rather the moment they see "Cosmetic Surgery Clinic" on the paperwork—or whatever the branding is—that’s where the trouble starts. Ostojić actually told me straight out that I probably wouldn't be able to claim a deduction, likely for that exact reason.
Paul Sullivan88, I was actually at Dr. Miller's office on my final day before heading home, and they handed me my discharge papers—two full pages, mind you, because he really took his time documenting every single detail 😂—along with my billing statement and all the other paperwork tied to my case.

Did you ever receive your official discharge summary? I know some physicians out there are notoriously tight-fisted when it comes to handing over documentation... Were you seeing Dr. Smith?
On another note, I am truly glad to hear you're happy with how your rhinoplasty turned out!

Maria Mia, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you; please touch base and let us know how everything goes!
Zachary Nguyen29, you’ve really put together quite the plan here—going under general anesthesia just for your mouth! I have to admit, there is something deeply unsettling about watching them use those massive needles for oral procedures. 😲
I can only imagine how much relief you'll feel once this is all behind you.

I am looking forward to hearing your update on how everything went! 😉
Honestly, I could probably use that too. My nose doesn't even look that bad when I'm keeping my mouth shut, but the moment I actually smile, the whole thing just droops downward.
And you know me—I can't help but talk! 😂

So, if I finally decide to go back under the knife with Smith... 😲
gentlemaker46 said:I am not talking about the doctor just to be spiteful; I am simply stating the facts of my situation. I admitted myself that something isn't right with my nose, but since I couldn't pinpoint the issue, I sought out a second specialist to explain what happened—especially since the surgeon who operated on me either missed it entirely or chose to ignore it. The bump is still there, but I won't dwell on it here; if anyone is genuinely interested, I can send a photo via private message. I’m stepping away from this discussion because some people make me feel like a lunatic who is just trying to smear a doctor's reputation out of pure bitterness or boredom, and frankly, I have no desire to deal with any unnecessary hostility. There is no point in continuing; I am still unsatisfied, which changes nothing, but I want to make it clear that I am neither crazy nor ignorant... so, I am done speaking on this matter.

Fine, consider the axe buried! 🙂 Personally, I'm interested in the results regarding the nose, though I'm not sure if you'll actually be willing to share photos given how tense things have become... 🤷

Oh, and thanks for staying quiet. Looking back, I realize just how many mistakes I made while drafting that initial post! 😍
Ashley Young34 said:As for me, 😁
I finally locked in my appointment for February 22nd, which means I’m stuck in a loop of endless online research and pure anxiety until then. 😛
I'm praying everything goes smoothly; honestly, I can't wait to get this new nose and those dimples done. 😁
I'll keep you all posted on how it goes—wish me luck. 😍

Honey, dimples too??? 👋 I was under the impression you were only getting a rhinoplasty, but apparently there's more to the plan... 😉
Getting that date set is a huge win. The time will fly by faster than you think, trust me. I'm genuinely excited for you! 🎉
gentlemaker46, I think you’ve lost the thread a bit here. You started out talking about a bump, then pivoted to bone fusion, and now I’m completely lost as to what exactly isn't sitting right with your nose. 🤷 Look, my intention wasn't to offend you, but it honestly rubbed me the wrong way to hear you speaking so poorly of a surgeon who quite literally changed my life for the better. He fixed something that has been a source of insecurity for me forever, and because of that, I’m much happier and more confident now. You know exactly how much that matters. Since I am genuinely thrilled with his work, I don't see why I shouldn't say so. From my perspective, he was always incredibly polite and transparent. He laid out exactly what to expect from the procedure—what could be perfected and where certain things might remain "imperfect." At the end of the day, he’s a doctor, not some miracle worker. That level of honesty meant a lot to me, and it's why I respect him so much. He could have easily lied to me and promised perfection just to close the deal, but he didn't. If he were only motivated by the money, as you claim, he wouldn't have conducted himself with such integrity.
I am truly sorry that you aren't feeling the same satisfaction with your results, but surely you realize that the outcome of any surgery depends as much on your own body's reaction as it does on the surgeon's skill.
Regardless, I sincerely hope you can get this sorted out quickly so you can finally feel happy with the result; I think we all deserve that, considering the amount of money we've poured into this, the physical pain we've endured, and not to mention the sheer anxiety involved.
I’m still just weighing my options regarding a rhinoplasty, so I can’t offer any firsthand experience, but I suspect the decision really hinges on how much you actually dislike what you're working with. In my view, there are two camps: people who absolutely loathe their nose—maybe due to a prominent hump—and they feel a sense of pure relief once it's gone; then there are those of us who just want some subtle refinement. Personally, I’m leaning toward the latter, perhaps just narrowing the tip slightly. That hesitation is exactly what’s holding me back, because my nose isn't exactly a disaster by any means. 😂My biggest fear is that I might end up ruining something that already works, especially since my own doctor actually told me my nose looks perfectly fine as it is...

I have no idea what's going on here, but I'm definitely following along! 😁 regarding this thread about nose surgery... 🤷
Noah Moore4, I completely understand where you're coming from. I went through the exact same cycle of second-guessing myself a hundred times before I finally decided on Smith. He made a great impression on me right from the start, and honestly, I haven't had a single regret since. From what I was able to gather and piece together, there was only one woman who had nose surgery with him who seemed genuinely unhappy, though we never actually saw any photos of the results. She initially claimed a bump had reappeared—something she’d been trying to get rid of—and then started rambling about poor bone healing or something along those lines, so... goodness knows what the actual issue was. Some people are just never satisfied, no matter what.

As for Johnson, I personally would never make that call; I've heard far more negative feedback about him than I ever have about Smith. For instance, I know that after surgery, he doesn't provide any discharge papers or documentation regarding the implants used. That really doesn't instill much confidence in his professionalism for me. BUT, I suppose it takes all kinds. I have read posts from people who were absolutely thrilled with his work, so just keep that in mind.😕

In my opinion, your best move is to schedule consultations with both of them so you can judge for yourself who feels like the right fit. That’s exactly how I handled it, and my intuition didn't steer me wrong—Smith turned out to be a perfect choice!😁
Zachary Nguyen29, I am genuinely glad you managed to get everything coordinated! :S I personally appreciated the patience Smith showed with every single patient. You don't get the impression that they're just rushing through tasks on an assembly line; instead, they give you their full attention as if you were the only person in the building!
Regarding anesthesia in general, I went under last Monday. I was terrified, but the whole experience was seamless. I didn't feel nauseous at all, let alone end up vomiting! :S I’m a smoker, so that was my biggest source of anxiety. The Anesthesiologist working with Smith is such a lovely, pleasant woman who really knows how to calm your nerves. When I finally lay down on the table in the operating room, I looked at the doctor and asked, "It's going to be okay, right?" He just gave me a little laugh and assured me it would be. Then they told me I'd start feeling a bit lightheaded, and I blurted out, "Okay, now I'm actually scared!" The next thing I knew, I was waking up in a hospital bed being asked how I was feeling. The doctor told me the surgery went perfectly and that I should rest before we talk more later. Throughout the day, he kept checking in on me—asking if I was okay, if I was in pain, if I was hungry... Honestly, you have nothing to worry about! You are in excellent hands!!! 🙂
When did you schedule the surgery? Are you running your tests through Medicare or privately through him?
Zachary Nguyen29, don't sweat it. Just stay brave. Definitely let us know how the consultation goes. If I ever decide to go through with a rhinoplasty, I’m heading straight to Smith. I really admire the way Johnson handles the nasal tip; that happens to be my biggest insecurity. I honestly thought that was just how noses had to look until I saw Smith's work. He does an incredible job of refining them so they look truly natural.
I’ve considered getting my nose done myself, though specifically just the tip, because it feels a bit too long and wide for my face. I don't have any bumps or structural issues to deal with—I just want to slim it down and shorten it slightly.
I recall seeing someone else mention a similar issue, but with all the constant posting here, I can't quite remember who 😕. Perhaps I should have just sent a private message instead 😂
Yes, and I neglected to mention that my eyes practically popped out of my head while I was digging through all those posts of yours!
To be clear, I am still preoccupied with the aesthetic implications of my nose. While Ostojić gave me some input, I might still end up deciding to have it shortened just a bit. 😁
gentlemaker46, I am truly sorry you are feeling so dissatisfied with your nose. I personally underwent a procedure with Ostojić—though not on my nose—and I have to say I am incredibly pleased with both him as an expert and his entire medical team.
I will just briefly recount my own experience here.
I initially went in for a consultation regarding a different surgery and decided to ask about my nose while I was there. He looked at me as if I were losing my mind; he told me quite plainly that my nose looks fine and he couldn't see any reason why I would want to fix anything at all! When a surgeon who earns his living from people like us—individuals struggling with insecurities about wanting smaller pores, larger breasts, more aesthetic noses, or tighter faces and bodies—says that to you... then I think we can stop talking about Ostojić being out for a quick buck. If he were truly only driven by money, as gentlemaker46 suggested, he would have simply nodded along and said, "Yes, yes, we can fix that, the surgery is scheduled for this date." Before my actual procedure, he answered my endless stream of questions with immense patience, always remaining polite; I never once felt rushed or like he was just trying to get me out of his office. And believe me, I KNOW I was being difficult because I kept harping on the exact same points over and over again! 😂
Before I made the decision to entrust him with my care, my most critical question for any surgeon was: what happens if there are complications? What is the protocol? Some doctors (the ones I saw before him) actually had the audacity to tell me, "That is impossible," BUT we are all human, and mistakes happen even to the very best. Ostojić didn't act like he was God; he honestly told me that if issues arise, we perform a revision, because to him, patient satisfaction is the true measure of a successful surgery. That was enough for me.
Zachary Nguyen29, you can trust Ostojić with your care without any fear. He produces genuinely beautiful noses—I've seen them on several friends and in his own clinical photos. He has performed over 1,500 rhinoplasties; you really have nothing to worry about.

And as for you, gentlemaker46, I am sorry you are unhappy, but isn't it strange that this other doctor you mentioned is asking for so much money? It also strikes me as odd that you are now mentioning a right bone that hasn't healed correctly, yet the bump you're concerned about has vanished. How can you be certain this other doctor is competent if she doesn't even see the bump you are describing???
