No problem at all, 🙂

haha...there's a grain of truth in there...men can be a bit dramatic, which makes things a little tougher to navigate...I’m reading some of these posts and honestly, I find it hard to believe that some people felt absolutely zero pain after surgery. My guy is still hurting just as much, and they won't even be removing the packing until Monday...but the doctor did mention his deviated septum was pretty severe—like, top-tier bad—so I think that plays a role. Recovery is such an individual thing, isn't it? It varies so much from person to person, just like the procedure itself. The swelling in his face is finally starting to go down today, so I'm hoping he'll feel a bit more like himself tomorrow. I am curious though, does removing the packing hurt a lot? The doctor told us to have him take something for the pain on Monday morning. He mentioned he used some newer types of packing that are supposed to be way better than the old-school stuff, but still. Also, have you heard of cases where rhinitis or other issues come back after the fact? Thanks so much for the info... cheers...
John Cox8 said:I mentioned my own nose surgery experience earlier, and honestly, reading about how some people handle it makes me wonder. Every surgery—whether you're doing it for looks or for breathing—is still major surgery. But I've realized that once people see the final result, they tend to brush off all the rough patches. They tell themselves it wasn't that bad, even if it was. It's like looking at a finished house after a messy construction site; you just forget the dust and the noise.
I think he might start feeling better regarding the pain by tomorrow. And honestly, things change completely once those nasal tampons come out. That’s when the real relief hits. For me, sleep was non-existent. I could manage during the day, but nights were a total disaster. I lived for the sunrise. If I even drifted off for a second, I’d jerk awake feeling like I was suffocating—breathing through my mouth, that stuffed-up sensation, all the drainage... it was brutal. Once the doctors removed the packing, everything vanished. So, don't sweat it; this is all totally normal. He just needs a little patience. In about six days, he'll feel like a new man.
Best wishes and good luck.
👍

Thanks for the info. I really hope those six days fly by for him...
John Cox8 said:Honestly, everything you’re feeling sounds pretty standard. I had my nose surgery exactly a year ago. I actually posted my own experience on this forum back then—I ended up throwing up at least twenty times. My body just didn't take the anesthesia very well. Right now, I'm certain what you're going through is mostly due to those nasal tampons. It was a similar story for me; it was a mix of both things. Once those tampons come out, everything starts looking up. It wasn't until they were removed that I could finally sit back and actually look at my new nose. Before that, I was sitting there thinking, "My God, what have I done?" 😁,,
it'll all turn out great,👍

My 15-year-old son had surgery yesterday for some health issues. He was operated on by a specialist at a major hospital in Chicago, and even though it only took two hours, it felt like an eternity to me. He's incredibly swollen right now and the pain seems unbearable. Blood keeps draining down his throat so he can't swallow, and his teeth are hurting him badly too. They told us the tampons won't be removed for another six days... Can anyone tell me how long this level of pain lasts and how long the total recovery takes? Thanks.
