I suppose I should weigh in here, since I’m dealing with epiphysiolysis myself... I've actually had it for a year now, though I only realized what was happening yesterday after looking over my own scans. I'm 15. The pain from physiolysis can be pretty intense—it starts around the groin and hip, and then eventually migrates down into the muscle and thigh. I'm not entirely sure if surgery is going to be necessary yet, as I'm heading to New York City in two days for them to make that call. My leg still has its range of motion for the most part, but I can't really do everything; certain exercises just trigger the pain. I mostly just wanted to mention that the sooner you catch this, the better it probably is... in my case, it seems to have healed slightly misaligned, so I'll likely be facing some bigger issues down the road.
