Windows 7 vs. Windows XP: Which one should I use?

I have a Dell USB scanner—I can't be bothered to dig up the exact model number right now—that worked perfectly fine on Windows XP, but it's completely useless on Windows 7 because I can't find a single driver for it. It's highly likely they never even bothered to develop them for this OS. This is precisely why maintaining a dual boot setup with Windows XP and Windows 7 is such a necessity.
