Hey. Can someone who actually knows their stuff help me make sense of these labs? Thinking back, I've been dealing with this virus for maybe 2 or 3 months now—only just got the official diagnosis two weeks ago.
Symptoms weren't exactly textbook, besides running a nasty fever (102.5°F) for a few days...
ALT 178 (ref. 10-36)
AST 71 (ref. 8-30)
GT 55 (ref. 9-35)
Had a liver ultrasound and everything looks fine. Hepatitis A, B, and C markers all came back negative.
But then there's this:
EBV VCA IgM pos
EBV VCA IgG pos
EBV EA IgG pos
EBNA IgG pos
CMV IgM pos
CMV IgG pos
These results are from two weeks ago. It's obvious I've had mono and it's lying dormant, but I don't get how I can have both viruses (EBV and CMV) at once... haven't seen anyone mention having both. If anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it. I'm 25 and don't feel particularly terrible—just a bit tired and that's about it.
Also, how do you even know when you aren't contagious anymore? More testing, or what?
