Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
I finally decided to kick the birth control habit back in August. My cycle started out predictably enough, but after a five-day delay on the second round, things just spiraled into total chaos, and now I’m sitting here a month and a half late. Honestly, I’m almost looking forward to the day it actually shows up; there’s this dull ache in my ovaries right now that makes me think maybe, just maybe, something is finally settling into a permanent rhythm rather than this endless uncertainty.

My last period was back on February 23rd, and I haven’t seen a thing since. About a month ago, I dealt with some intense ovarian pain followed by a single day of brownish discharge, but that was the end of it. I actually saw my OB-GYN right before my last cycle and everything checked out fine, and my thyroid levels came back normal too. My cycle usually runs about 40 days anyway, and there have been a few times in the past where I skipped a month entirely, much like what's happening now. I'm just hoping it starts soon because the suspense is starting to wear thin. Between the breast tenderness and this constant feeling of bloating, I'm just waiting for some relief 🙂

I’m not even bothering with a pregnancy test because I already know it’s not happening; my period is a month late now, but I’ve reached that stage of calm where I just accept it'll show up whenever it feels like it. 🙂I went to see my OB-GYN last month and everything checked out perfectly fine...
I had some minor spotting one day, but that was the extent of it—my ovaries gave me a bit of trouble for a moment and then settled down, so now I'm just sitting in the waiting room of life. Don't let the anxiety get to you, because stressing over it is just a guaranteed way to push your cycle back even further.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm already twenty-five days behind schedule, and I haven't seen a single point from the total yet... I think I'm starting to lose my grip on reality.

I was there just about a month ago, and everything seemed to be running perfectly fine...

Or maybe I just didn't get it after all... there was this tiny speck of blood, which made me think it was finally happening, but then nothing—zero progress. It was just a flash in the pan. Yesterday was completely quiet, and today it’s just that same little spot again, like a tiny drop of rust. I have no idea what kind of cycle this is; it's unlike anything I've experienced before, and the ache in my ovaries is becoming absolutely maddening.

Barely half an hour after I posted that, I got hit with... hahaha

I’m already twenty-three days behind schedule... I’ve been hitting the gym pretty hard for the last month or so and cutting back on food, so maybe that’s playing a role... who knows. I’m just hoping it shows up soon before I start losing my mind completely.

I feel like I'm losing my mind. I went to see my OB-GYN for advice a month ago, and she told me this was standard when you're coming off birth control, so I booked an appointment—only to find out I have to wait another week just to be seen. It’s exhausting because I really thought I’d get some answers before then, but nothing seems to be happening. I’ve already run two pregnancy tests and they were both negative, yet there's still no sign of anything. Every once in a while, I feel this slight twinge in my ovaries or a little poking in my abdomen, which gives me a flicker of hope, but then everything just goes quiet again.😠

Just needed to vent...😢

The twinges in my ovaries have been going on for two weeks now, and honestly, I'm reaching my limit. If you're feeling frantic after two months of waiting, I can only imagine the mental toll a sixty-day gap takes on you. Jesus Christ, I just hope things settle down for me soon. I've heard through the grapevine that it's perfectly normal for your cycle to go haywire after stopping hormonal therapy, but knowing that doesn't make the uncertainty any less maddening.🙂

I picked up my prescription right after starting the pill, then had to grab another one because my cycle was running a day or two late... now I was expecting my period around November 2nd and it’s just nowhere to be found. Between the constant nausea, the irritability, and this nagging ache in my ovaries, I feel like I'm losing my mind. I’m pretty sure I’m not pregnant, but the fact that my cycle is being this unpredictable is honestly driving me up the wall.

I was on Yasmin and stopped about two months ago... my first period arrived right on schedule, but now my second one is already a week late. I'm dealing with nausea and ovarian pain—basically all those usual symptoms I get right before my cycle starts. Is it normal for things to be this delayed after quitting birth control, or am I looking at some kind of underlying issue? 🙂 please help!!!!!
