Period talk: Questions and advice
in Women's Health ·
Hey ladies, I’ve got a question. 🙂
So, I'm 20 and my periods have always been super irregular. Last November, I finally decided to see a gynecologist to see what was going on. Turns out, one of my ovaries is polycystic, while the other seems okay. My doctor prescribed me some Duphaston, which I took for about three months—and honestly, they worked great because my period came right on schedule every single month. But then, I just... stopped taking them on my own after those three months were up. For two months after that, things seemed totally fine and regular. Then, my cycle started acting up again and delaying, so I figured I'd just take a pill to jumpstart things. I popped one tablet at 10 AM, and by 4 PM that afternoon, my period arrived! After that, I didn't bother with the pills anymore since everything seemed back to normal. Well, not quite—the first day of my last period was February 26th, and I haven't had one since. In the meantime, I did have sex for the first time (specifically on March 21st). Based on my math, we were in my non-fertile window, plus we used protection and he didn't even finish. Like, nothing actually went inside me because we just called it quits. So, I'm pretty sure it's impossible for me to be pregnant. I mean, if I were, wouldn't I be feeling symptoms by now? Also, for the past week, I've been on this strict medical diet—basically just eating oranges—because I gained a bunch of weight over the winter and all those holidays. Since yesterday, my stomach has been incredibly bloated, and if I press on the middle of my belly, I get this weird sensation and a dull ache. It almost feels like it's on the skin rather than deep in my stomach. I don't know what could be causing this. Could it just be my stomach reacting to this orange diet? Or something else? 😕
I'm really hoping for some answers. I am seriously stressing out about all of this. 😢
Thanks!
