It feels like the kid already understands the state of the world, which explains why he isn't exactly rushing to get out here. 🙂

Let’s see how this goes. I'll give it a shot. As soon as you started this thread, it reminded me of birds. Specifically, the struggle between a crow and a falcon. Most people have heard the fable about them, but it isn't just folklore—it's reality. If you look at a crow and compare its traits to human character, you could easily call them stingy, dull, vengeful, and rude. Plus, they’re thieves. If any of you have ever had one hanging around your backyard, you know they'll snatch up anything that catches the light.🤣I’m free to say she’s incredibly sharp and knows exactly how to hold her own. On the other hand, you have the falcon—a predator, sure, but also a guardian of its domain. He's wise, poised, and composed. Think about that classic standoff between a crow and a falcon. When a crow feels its territory is threatened, it attacks the falcon mid-flight, pecking at its wings to try and force it down. It’s relentless. But the falcon? He doesn't even flinch. Eventually, the crow gets exhausted and ends up hitching a ride right on the falcon's back. Even then, the falcon remains unbothered. He simply spreads his wings and climbs higher. The higher he ascends, the more the crow panics. In that frenzy, the crow loses all control and slips right off. Sometimes they manage to recover and take flight again, but more often than not, they just fall.
I don't know. It’s like birds. You have crows and you have hawks. Some people choose the struggle, while others just spread their wings and enjoy the view.🙂
Michelle Bennett14 said:Your story holds water, and honestly, that’s exactly how it works. I often head out to a spot in the wilderness where there are cliffs used by eagles for nesting. Down in the lower woods, you have the crows—those black scavengers. Sometimes an eagle catches a thermal and drifts a bit too far, drifting right into crow territory. They swarm him. It’s never just one bird; they attack in a coordinated pack. The eagle usually just ignores them—he's the king, after all. But those crows? Their only real leverage is the group. 😁
