I'm looking for recommendations for a really, truly great private gynecologist in Chicago. I’m curious about what the typical costs for an exam look like, too. I know this topic comes up all the time on these forums, but I haven't been able to find anything specific that actually answers my questions in any of the old threads. I've already gone through three different doctors in just the last four or five years, and it's been frustrating. I deal with these really intense infections, yet every single test comes back perfectly normal, so nobody can tell me what's actually going on. I feel like I've spent a small fortune on various vaginal treatments and nothing seems to work... so I've decided to try seeing someone privately, hoping maybe a specialist will have better luck, but I honestly don't even know where to start or what I should expect to pay. Please, if you have any leads, let me know! Thanks so much.
You might want to check out Dr. Ayub over in Newark; he's a wonderful guy and I think he might even have a practice somewhere in Chicago too. He's great, his office is very nice, and the prices aren't outrageous at all. A Pap smear and a vaginal ultrasound usually run around $100 (I don't remember the exact amount, but it's somewhere in that ballpark)
