My doctor didn't even bother pulling them out; they just started dropping off on their own about a month and a half after the procedure. The very last one didn't budge until two months post-op, and man, those things were holding on for dear life.

You’ll notice that the only posts with any actual weight are the ones where someone says, "Yeah, my surgeon totally screwed me up because he did X, Y, and Z." Just ignore all this endless, aimless whining that lacks any real substance.
My best friend actually went to see Dr. Klapan Ivica for surgery—just a deviated septum, nothing crazy—paid him about $10,000, and she was super happy with the results. As for me, I had both functional and cosmetic work done at a major public hospital, and I was super satisfied too. Plus, I didn't even deal with that nasty post-op nausea from the general anesthesia 🙂

My bad, I might have generalized a bit too much there. Maybe it just depends on which hospital you end up at—honestly, if you managed to get everything handled by the exact person you wanted, then major props to you (not sure where you went), but man... I basically bled out and fought with half the staff at my place just because I didn't want seven different doctors bouncing me around like a pinball. I just wanted one person to actually take charge and handle everything in one go.

The thing is, when you head into a public hospital, you usually don't get to handpick your surgeon; they basically just assign whoever is on duty. And even if you manage to snag a consultation with a specific doctor you like, there’s absolutely no guarantee they’ll be the one performing the surgery.
Plus, I don't know who your primary care physician is, but getting that many referrals for ENT specialists just to "shop around" is going to be an uphill battle. It's tough luck, really...
